Take the latches off to avoid being locked inside if the lid closes..

Yup, I am thinking what are the chances that the lid comes down and the latches catch just enough to cause serious problems.

It's not just the latches. The rubber seal on those type of coolers with temperature differences can seal and vapor lock. She could get trapped inside there even if the latches don't lock, just from pressure lock. Sometimes those coolers lock up so much you have to crack the drain hole to break the seal.

There is no reason in the world for me to get into a ice bucket of cold water. For any reason I can’t stand cold. I fell through the ice when I was a kid in a lake 2 miles from home.
