So many people think that the best way to dive is on the stomach. This is great if you have experience and enough strength, but it risks hurting your hip bones, splitting your chin, or over-extending your shoulders if you don't do it right. This diving technique is the best one to start with for beginners or for people worried about getting hurt on the ground. Let me know if you give it a try!

YES YES! I’m a very lean player and I don’t have an ass- so I always opted to slide on my stomach. HOWEVER, my hips stick out because of how thin I am, and I constantly find them bruised or bloody because of how hard they contact the floor, no matter how low I get into my approach before the dive. It’s quite painful. So I’ll definitely try this technique, especially since it’s more of a sliding technique and not a “fall flat onto your butt” technique. (My tailbone hurts from thinking about it. 💀) thank you for the tips!

I am the same way... my hips stick out really far, so I would be completely bruised if I tried to dive on my stomach!! Let me know how this goes!!

There’s a place for everyone in Volleyball! I really hope you try it sometime! If you ever see a group, try to connect with them, people often are super receptive to new players trying to join. Volleyball is the ultimate team sport, everyone appreciates a player who wants to get better. Because ultimately, you are getting better for everyone around you.
