Have you heard people talk about - Renndrew Volleyball Victimless - (do a google search ) ? Ive heard some decent things about it and my mate got amazing success with it.

    Very important to be diving forward, not down. If you dive downward, your face can hit the ground and chip a tooth.

    this was a problem for me, here's my method to get around that: get as low as possible before diving so you don't hit your chest, like you're doing a deep lunge. then, yeet your hind leg up and smoothly slide onto the floor. make sure your upper body is lower than your lower body, so you don't end up w those painful bruises on your hip

    As long as the surface is smooth you can do it. Our gym floor is cementy I guess, but it's smooth so you can dive 'on' it. I guess that if you mean somewhere outside, then probably not.

    kim lam well even if that may be true, never compare yourself to anyone else other than urself, when you focus on getting better and keep your eyes on you own progress, you’ll end up impressing those around you anyway.     My friend bumped into me while we were playing volleyball in the P.E class bcs our P. E teacher is also volleyball teacher,and when she bumped into me i said,,ARARA GOMEN" and my teacher did the yamaguchi laugh and said,,ROLLING THUNDERRRR" that was like the best day of my life,like he become my fav teacher after that.

    Whenever I try to do it, I always seem to have my knee in the way so I can’t slide I just faceplant on the floor. I’m also center placer so it doesn’t really matter if I can do it or not

    Thanks coach! I often hurt myself diving so this was definitely helpful! can't wait to try it on court. As for a video suggestion, I see in a lot of your volleyball highlights that you often dive for the ball sideways and you roll over sometimes. Can you include some clips of you diving in game? and why/how you receive while running sideways? Thanks :)

    i always end up receiving the ball with my face and i know how hinata feels cus now my team just keeps playing and say "ayy well done " and yes i started volley ball 2-3 years ago cus of haikyuu and its actually so much fun

    Bello Delgado girls usually don't dive but if you do I've seen them arch their backs so their "chest" isn't slapping the ground and it's solely their stomach

    I used to rollover on my side to avoid hitting my knee into the ground and that didn't work because it would force me to use one hand and hurt my hip. No I know how to fix it. Thanks a lot man!

    I’m a senior in high school, I’m the tallest on my team. I’m from a small town so I’m tall compared to the other girls on my team. I bet in more populated places the middles are way taller though 😆

    Hi Donny, thanks for all the very good vids on your channel. I'm coaching 13-14 year old guys who have played volleyball for many years. As usually at this age, they are good on attacking but most of them are lazy on defending, digging. Any good training suggestions where they just have to defend, dive & dig? Thanks again.

    Thanks for the great video :) I do not know the actual name in english, but if you could do a video on the japanese side-roll (technique for defending the ball on the side and then roll over back into a standing position, as pioneered by Japan in the 1964 olympics). That would be fantastic.

    Hey coach! I know its been years since you made this video but I want to become the libero for my 9th-grade volleyball team in September. I have been practicing my diving a bit but I always end up winding myself and landing on my chest, do you have any suggestions on how I could do this without winding myself?

    I would personally recommend you do more push-ups and train your arms, that way they can support you weight better and your chest doesn't hit the ground too fast!

    nah, you can watch high level games where even liberos dont wear knee pads. But if you are not confident with your diving, rolling skills, then go buy.

    I think it's because if you bring the ball right above you, you need to move away for the setter. I might be wrong though

    momentum and force. You will make less of an impact falling straight down. For example.. if something you are holding falls to the ground and you don't want it to break.. try kicking it right before it lands.. the change in momentum will most likely save it from breaking (obviously not with a knife)
