This guy is a natural Hazzard🤣😂 He's not a pro but he's truthful @ what he was doing. I found this very helpful as I'm going to disassemble and attempt to repair one of these pumps for a totally different purpose. Thank pal.

The other method is to use an abrasive cutter to bisect the whole body lengthwise.

That's what I did, but stacking can be a problem. Buy a new part from a junkyard or shop

These electric motors on BMWs are prone to failures at 60k miles. I like to know what it the reason for the failure. It seems like it's not because of the plastic vain. And the failure is most likely the electronics that fails.

How can you tell the date of manufacture? What printed number represents the year of manufacture? My car has 130 000 miles and I would like to know if the previous owner replaced the pump recently. Thanks

Peter Finn I was thinking about the numbers printed on the actual water pump.It is on that round cover that you removed with the knife.Do any of those numbers represent the year of manufacture?

its on the side of the pump the number that is in the circle is the year

MoNsTeR420x 777 The number that you are talking about is part of an aluminum cast housing. It’s not visible because it’s facing the back of the car. I was talking about the numbers printed on the round cover that is on the opposite side of the turbine. If anyone knows , I would appreciate it
