so as soon as you select anything with the middle button/wheel it comes back so whats the point?

Exactly, it's pointless. My pointer appears any time I even slightly jostle the remote, and sometimes even the side bar comes up, covering up whatever I'm watching. I'm tempted to dismantle the fucking thing and disconnect the accelerometers somehow.

Tip works, but is completely useless. Since you can no longer use the select button, wouldn't it be easier to just throw away the remote?

Just press any of the arrow keys to get the pointer to disappear. Press the scroll wheel to re-activate. This does the same as your method but faster. The problem is, people are coming to this video in search of an actual way to disable the thing without having it pop back up with a press of a button. May just have to purchase and link a 3rd party controller to it.

Well I guess, but t's too easy to re-register that way. The REAL question should be "How do you "PERMANENTLY" disable the pointer option? I figure that yet again, somebody had an idea at LG and didn't stop to think somebody else might not like it.

Thank you this was driving me crazy because the mouse arrow would turn my streaming off and I would have to deal with it constantly With your instruction in two seconds it was gone thank you!!!!!

Buy a 'magic' remote replacement without the pointer.

So you can't select/click on anything while the dumb pointer is disabled because if you select/click on anything itll reconnect... terrible development and product design.

Totally agree... I want to return my TV!... Fortunately, I have a TV/remote which does not have that stupid, annoying technology... :-(

Agreed. It will work until you use the okay button again. But I read instructions on settings and it says in order to stop use the 4 way button in center (the wheel) and it worked for me. There is another video here on KZread that demonstrates how to do it. A few seconds video.

Soooo how do we permanently disable it?? We had this tv FOR LITERALLY YEARS AND someone ACCIDENTALLY enabled it.. now it won’t go back to the way it was and it’s pissing everyone off 🤦‍♀️

If you set the LG TV settings on "on" for the "Audio Guidance," in the Accessibility options submenu menu, apparently the pointer goes away until the "Audio Guidance" is set on "off" again.

Hello. The recent probleme now it's that the pionter. Disepear after 5 min and won't go back again. Also nothing happen when I tried to desconnect the remote. By the way I got last update on 26/10

Buy a universal remote that works on the LG tv that is infrared and that pointer will not come on. The LG original remotes are radio not infrared remotes that’s why the pointer keeps coming back on.

What 7 figure (or more) genius thought this xxxx cursor thing was a good idea?!!!... It makes my tv viewing a pain... jumping all over the place... I hardly ever click fast enough... arthritis doesn't help... as mentioned... as soon as you need to click on a selection, it comes right back @#$%&!!!

did LG create this to make people crazy??!!! This pointer is horrible, makes the TV control nearly impossible!!!
