Thank you for posting this, I had this exact problem. To add to what you did, I took the switch apart and did a continuity test on the brown and black wires coming out of the kill switch and both were good. When I took the red push button out, I found that the little spring that provides tension against the contact points was rusted so badly that it broke in 2. Replaced the spring and now the switch works as it should.

Followed your diagnoses for my no start issue. I get continuity on this female side of the all white wires coming from the red box in the background. Is that bad? Sorry, couldn’t send pic 🤷‍♂️

2001 trail boss. ok it runs fine on old cdi but wont shut off. put new ignition and handle bar switches and stator still wont shut off even touching black on cdi to ground. so put new cdi on and now no spark even with black unplugged from cdi. any help ????

Hey i have checked all the things you mentioned in the video but still no spark, so far i have changed the cdi box, coil and timing coil do you have any tips to what it could be. The stator measures 0,2 1,4 and 1,6 on the yellow wires when i holdt the starter should the stator make more voltage?

Sounds like you might have a dead leg on the stator. Check resistance of the stator across the three wires. Should have 3 identical or very close readings.
