My go to mantra is "I'm the master of my thoughts, feelings and actions." It really helps me to take control upon myself and not give anything or person power over my mental well-being.

That was nowhere an answer I'd find acceptable for the matter. That's reprogramming the brain by suggestion and force of habit, repetition. Self hypnosis, if you wish. Which ultimately is what can cause the opposite the first place. Repeating bad thoughts, encouraging negative feelings, picking up bad habits like being desperate for attention and valiadation. Would wish an answer to emphasize on how to overcome one's brain's "openness" for manipulations of any kind -manipulation by themselves, or by their surroundings. How to become stoic without the need to pretend the lie to yourself, everything is good. How to get into the zen mindset and accept the outside storm with inner peace. How to fight the lizard brain without the need of reprogramming it.

Buddy what you’re looking for is a way not to be a human being. But you are, and so you’re programmable by nature, and working on yourself involves looking at and working with all parts of you, even (or perhaps especially) the parts you have trouble accepting. Feel free to reply if you’re still working on it and would like to know more. Cheers, be well
