How To Destroy Your Guitar (Disturbing Content)
Sometimes-- heck, most of the time --you want clean, beautifully sculpted, well-thought-out guitar tones. Many musicians spend their whole lives searching for that tone, and it’s a worthy goal. That's not what Nick and I are doing in this episode. We want to destroy my guitar.

OMFG!!! Yes!!! Thank you!!! I haven’t understood the draw of Sonic Youth since 1988!! It mystifies me and people who hear me trash them get IRRATE. I simply say, I’m gonna de-tune my guitar, bang on the strings while holding Suss and minor chords... drone out some haiku and call myself Sonic Youth. People lose they minds. These pedals would exponentially authenticate the SY liberal arts major dropout sound!!! Thank you for showing me the light!!

The real jewel of this video is Nick's expression during the AirTrash demo.
What I like about this channel is Josh's simple honest evaluations of other makers products, instead of just pushing his own. It's refreshing to see a pedal builder acknowledge the good stuff his own competitors make. I especially like the excursions into the budget stuff like Joyo, Donner, Behringer, Sonic cake, (usually clone makers) ... A lot of those pedals sound like playing through an amp with blown speakers. I know, ever since the day I blew the speaker in my older brothers 1966 Fender Princeton Reverb, doing my Jimi Hendrix imitation, back in the day. I knew I was in big trouble and gonna get my arse kicked. lol Someone should make an "Ass Kicked" pedal.
I built a fuzz factory clone as my first pedal build / only fuzz pedal and I love not being able to tell whether it sounds insane because I messed it up or because it's an insane pedal to begin with. All kinds of destruction coming out of that thing.

Man oh man. That music was like listening to the lost recordings that didn’t make it onto any Butthole Surfers album, after having “accidentally” taken waaay too much cough syrup while drifting in and out of a fever dream.
The decomposer sounds like a electric fly trap on Friday night when a moth goes to heaven. Total awesomeness!
Nick's editing skills in this episode though... I want to see more exploding car crashes with dinosaurs please. Full length feature.
The "Guitar Destroyed" clips were absolutely hilarious! This one's highly entertaining. Great job as usual, guys.
I love the beastie boys very cool how they blended genres, taught themselves instruments to be able to create unique fun hip hop
I love how each “GUITAR DESTROYED” added one more cool thing to distract you for each one. 😂🤣😂
Well you can't unsee what happened during "slug lunch."
Jhs almost went Death Metal on us in this episode😅 . I just loved every second of this fun showcase of weird pedals. I am actually interested in the Death by Audio. They make fxs that with tweaking and other fx combination, could make me an old dude actually land on planet Mars due to a worm hole or transportation to the Enterprise. Loved every jam song too. Imagine all the creative fun the JHS team is having. That will cultivate some great fxs ideas in the future. Live long and prosper.🤘
This reminds me that I need to pull out a “fuzz” box I build from GetLoFi: it is a simple circuit with two transistors that feedback into each other... I’ve been able to listen to the radio through it.

Lol, I've been able to listen to the radio just by plugging my guitar into the amp, but not inserting the cable all the way
Me looking at my modular synth: “You say destroy, I say improve”. The Ottobit sounds like something Hendrix used on Are You Experienced? “So What’Cha Want?” Is favorite Beastie track.
If only you could have brought back Frank Zappa as a “Guitar Destroyer” guest for this episode! Oh, man! That’d be awesome!! Have you ever resurrected a human being, Josh? It can’t be that much harder than bringing back a dead pedal...can it? 🤔
Nick couldn’t stop smiling the entire episode and that gave me so much joy
"enough switches to make you feel like you have some options"

this is my favorite episode to date.
I have been waiting for you to make a video like this!
Gotta love a pedal company that refers to their pedals sound as, "absolute garbage." Now, I want one. An absolutely HILARIOUS video!
Josh, you were but a wee laddie, five years old, 6'1", when those Beasties dropped but I can picture you throwing cheese slices on all the windows, rocking your Mardi Gras beads like gold chains, turning the TV upside down, and your parents walk in to see you scream: "It was like that when I got here."
I just want some blastbeats from Nick. That's all I want in life.
Omg, every bumper of Nick’s GUITAR DESTROYED made me laugh more than the one before! Man did I need that today, so much.
I don't think I've ever commented on here before, but the Super Weirdo section... in particular the zoom-in on the drummer's face... has taken this already awesome show to another level. Also, the changes in graphics and timing before the second explosion in each GUITAR DESTROYED made me LOSE IT. I am so happy right now.
