In the start when he said his studio is in Easthampton I thought "oh wait, I wonder if he's in the same building as Healey Guitars, it looks similar" and then a minute later, there's Josh playing a Healey. My worlds are colliding here and I'm not sure how I feel about it.

30 minutes of EHX weirdness, He’s in the box, and a Rocket from the Crypt Tshirt. This might just be the best video I’ve ever seen on KZread!

This is a big statement, but halfway through and this is my favorite JHS show episode so far. Nick in the box, the tasty proto punkish jams, a Nels Cline reference. Josh, Nick, Addison, and Daniel, thank you for brightening up my Friday double shift.

The guitar synthesizer was used on Josh Klinghoffer's Pluralone album "I Don't Feel Well". The song is called "The Night Won't Scare Me" and it sounds amazing!

You know, for being stuck in a dark, tiny room with a Chuck E. Cheese head, Nick really stayed in the pocket on that last jam. Good look, Nick.

Right around the 22 minute mark when the janky reverb and the red big muff box comes out Josh's internal collector is going off the rails.

It’s interesting to see Josh’s face contemplating pedals and boxes he doesn’t have.

I've been watching this show pretty regularly for the last 2-3 years, and this is without a doubt my favorite episode.

this is probably the best video this channel has ever produced. these two need to make this a weekly thing, Daniel and Josh is the new dawn of awesome TV

"He's In The Box" My daughter and I both hurt people's ears from literally laughing out loud.

I don’t know why with a lot of these jams I expect Anthony Keidis to come out of nowhere and start doing his thing…

This is a classic episode that I know I'll come back to.

These jams are giving me a first QOTSA album/early Desert Sessions vibe.

the man has a drum box and beats up a grabber into a big muff. truly a man of exquisite taste

This is THE BEST pedal video I have ever seen, I cannot even think of a close comparison

Daniel Danger has been my favorite artist since I saw his work in Hi-Fructose magazine about 10 years ago. This is like worlds colliding for me!

"He's in the box" Full circle people, full circle.

So actually the guy behind the ehx digital delays is David Cockerell, who also worked for EMS. When he went to Akai (don’t believe the Headrush is related at all) he used the tech to make the S612, first of their iconic S-Series samplers. And it’s super unique, might be one of the only samplers that has EHX like sliders for sample start/End, loop control, knobs for a pitch LFO, and something super awesome and rare: overdub at the press of a button, all on an amazing 12-bit sampler. I haven’t seen the original 16SDD, and always wanted to play one, because of how much I love the S612

Fantastic episode and what an incredible collection. I love passion for things that compels collecting... it's a really pure thing. Also, excellent drum recording... like for real, they sounded great!

I've been collecting Danger art for years and OBNE Haunt is my favorite fuzz and and and this is the best episode you've ever done

How often can a word be changed, all changes overseen? How many times do we have to be saved by our guardian angels, that are pitying us, doing so? We poor humans fail by the simplest tasks. Thanks for returning the nightmares with the McGruff stuff. I was the smuck in the McGruff suit (retired Phoenix PD, community relations bureau 91-94) dancing and miming to that stuff. In the end I went back to patrol and plainclothes in south/south central Phoenix hoping someone would shoot me.. Though it does help a little, letting that dark ugly secret out after all these years.

Thank you for the "Ride the Snake" reference. Probably one of the most deep cut SNL sketches of all time lol

The Collector He sat mildly composed on his chair in the studio, which had evolved into an internally-facing museum...a collection that would feed his obsession and drive it at the same time. To call it a self-oscillating feedback loop would be an irony too grand to behold. And yet there at the desk sat the collector, brooding over his magnificent trove like a divine shepherd of golden fleeced rams, never to be sheared, never to be sold, purely for the awe of the gods. A job well done. He sat beside another; a guest in his studio; another collector spoiled with both envy and pride for the accomplishments of his compatriot. A sibling rivalry of sorts ensued at the disclosure of one sacred treasure after another. These were the best days of our lives. This was no tactless hoard of some deranged hermit stockpiling nonsense in the chambers of his insanity. This was a masterpiece of curated works of art. Though his presence gave a deft betrayal of silent contemplation at all times, there was something else lurking in the measure of his posture...something in his eyes that lay beneath the asymmetrical crop of locks strewn hastily about his brow. In his relentless pacing, there was, dare I say, a hint of interruption in the continuity of the conscious mind...a madness that propelled itself forward on the insatiable desire for more. They came in droves to watch the two converse...the collectors. But it was the witnessing of the madness set free, there in the studio, that they truly longed and chased. Stroking celestial melodies on the strings of tempered ambition. The Collector and his compatriot came to a resolve. Some say he still resides in that place of pure obsession. Others tell tales of a voice heard in the wilderness echoing the laughter of his pursuit. If you seek him you may come across a stranger in the dark, and if by chance he grants you exchange, be not surprised to hear the name of Daniel Danger.

Thank you for lightening up a dull world. Today should have been Sunday, but it was really JHS Night, and I heard some music that I never want to hear again, so it was a one-off Sunday, too. Mind you, I used to make some pretty weird noises with my Electric Mistress on "chorus" setting, stacked with a DOD chorus, so no one is without blame. 10/10.

That "He's in the box" almost killed me. I had to laugh so hard. XD Great video and super interesting to watch. Thanks!

The sounds out of the 16 second digital delay might have been made by Frank Zappa organically.
