    Wow...that is absolute total destruction. I've only ever seen one engine blow like that and that was a D16Z6 1.6L SOHC VTEC Honda engine with a small .48 A/R Ford Thunderbird turbo and a very terrible tuner. That block actually did split in two. The only thing holding the block together was the head and the oil pan. Two of the pistons had literally shattered in the block, and it was only set for 10 psi! It wasn't my engine and I wouldn't have driven it if it was running as poorly as this engine was, but I got to help swap it for a good JDM D15B VTEC engine with the same turbo kit in the middle of winter (after we got about 10 inches of snow) in my buddy's front yard and we didn't have an engine hoist or anything other than a half functioning floor jack. It's a good thing I'm fairly big and strong...because I had to carry the engine over to the car, push it up under the engine bay, drop the car down, and lift the engine and trans into place to put the motor mount bolts in. Ahhh...memories.

    What, no Barra comments yet ? Must be a slow day. Jay from Real street was campaining a 2jz Supra runningin the 6sec consistently. Jay said he moved for the 2jz factory cast block to a billet block because the 2jz block deck warps at around 1800hp. In comparison, the Barra can make 2500hp only partially grouted, and can then could drive on the road for drag week.

    @timvanderstarre9021

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@JesseSpec the bores aren't smaller, it still is an 86mm bore, but due to the reduced deck height it should be a stronger design indeed. But that doesn't mean you can make more horsepower with a 1jz. The 2jz more than compensates for this "weaker" design with its increased displacement. Technically the 1jz would take just a bit more boost but the 2jz will make more power with the same amount of boost pressure. I hope this makes sense
