    Hi, Jeff. The output in this case comes out of the charge controller. Since the loads are DC and the input is DC (battery), then this system works for DC bulbs and DC fans. It won't work for 3phase pumps or appliances that run on AC power. In such case you would need an inverter.

    I like to recommend that there is an error in determining the amperage rating of the charge controller. Note you have a battery size including autonomy and DOD at 50 % is 80 Ah, which you estimated as 100Ah. In determining the size of the array or modules needed, accounting for 3 hours of sunshine in such a locality and battery voltage of 12 voltage : (100Ah x 12 voltage) / 3 hours = 400 VA (Watts). For Charge controller, since battery voltage is 12 voltage, we have : 400 VA / 12 Voltage = 33.3 A. This could be rated up as 40 amperage charge controller.

  • @geinstein337

    @geinstein337

    For 100Ah battery though, a 200W solar panel will do. 200W = 200VA. 200VA/12V = ~16.6A, which would require a 20A charge controller.

    Some confusing in this Video. You didn't unclude Autonomy AmpereHour for sizing Charger Controller. (100Ah/3h = 33.3A or 40A atleast ratings of Charge Controller). You miss also number of Panels based from Autonomy usage (33.3A/6.7A = 4.9 or 5 Panels). And how did you compute to get Peak Power Current 8A of Charge Controller?

    You don't need that big a current. Firstly, only 50% needs to be charged and discharged. More than that and you destroy the battery. Secondly, the 100W panel cannot output that much current. Check its Max Power current and and it won't even be higher than 5A.

    padali in mo nalang boss. ganito lang po yan kuha ka ng battery tapos tingnan ilang volts kadalasan 12v tapos ilang Ah ang battery like 48Ah normal na battery ng sasakyan... so 12v X 48Ah = 576W so kong meron kang 150W na panel maka produce yan ng 600W sa loob ng limang oras. pano?. ganito yan sa 150 W na panel meron yang power loss 20% so 120W nalang multiply buy 5hours = 600W kada limang oras. yan yung mga oras na tirik ang araw... ma full charge ang battery mo apat or limang oras kung gusto mo mapadali dagdagan mo panel mo like x2 para dalawang oras lang. so kung gusto mo ng fullcharge palagi ang battery na parang di nababawasan mag lagay ka ng apat or 4 na panel na tag 150W para sa battery na 12V 48Ah. yan yun.

Load is 750W for 16 hours 750Wx16 hrs = 12000Wh =12000VAh 12000VAh/24V= 500Ah We need 500Ahx2 = 1000Ah 50% discharge for lead acid batteries.no days of autonomy. Number of batteries = 1000Ah/180Ah=5.5 =6 batteries of 180 Ah Solar panels 500Ah/7hours =71A 12000Wh/7hrs=2714watts Panel specs 700W, 17.69Amax No of panels=71A/17.69A=4.2 is 5 panels . 80A , 24 V charge controller needed. No inverter? My well pump runs only when I use water, but without power I have no water. This is a 3 phase motor. So I need panels, cables to connect to charge controller, batteries, circuit breakers/fuses, and some way to manually switch from the grid to my storage if power goes off. The numbers and math concerning these components is all Greek to me. What size controller, inverter, gauge wire, etc should I buy? No inverter? Where does the power come out?

    Just for 4 lights. This is really outrageous. You need to set that panel at a sun trackable angle. Also most people do not keep all lights on for 12hrs. So to power a fridge or Air conditioner you will need 100panels from your calculation😀😀😀 This what you get when you can't tell the difference with 12v and 24v panels and photovoltaic or monchristalin panels.

    I don't understand why you need a 250W panel here. What we need was 7amps. If we take the MPPT voltage at 18V, then the required panel is 126W panel. So in that case even a 150 above is good and no need for anything more than 200W for PWM charge controller. I am considering the system voltage as 12V. Sir please clarify how the panel was calculated.

If the battery is half full and there is still lots of solar energy, some of that can go to charge the battery and some of it can go to power the loads.

Do a bit of research and determine the exact lux levels . see if you not can use back reflextion to double up on the just two.. choose two smaller batteries rather a bigger battery (replacement can be scheduled. with the inverter losses gone, it overwrites the massive derating you have done on the panels. To be honest, this is completely wrong.. each light should have been treated with it's own little small battery dc led...
