If you apply cheesecloth to the bone structure before adding latex (as in, put a single layer of cheesecloth everywhere that you plan to put latex) then the whole project would actually go more quickly and the finished result would be more sturdy.

when I was in high school, I made an angel/demon hybrid doll for art class. burned half of a Barbie, collected pigeon feathers, stretched black pantyhose over the wire frame I made, and then glued leather for the boning. drilled holes in her back and then made a painting of a male angel and female demon kissing. the project required a 2D and 3D piece. I still have her, although she's a little dusty.

Hi; Did you prepare the wire with a light sanding before applying the latex and paint and if not would you do a test on a small piece of wire to see if it would provide a better surface to work with? I watched a documentary on Madame Tussaud's wax model making and it said they use colored thread to make veining and details of the iris. Next time would you add read threads to the wings to make a more demonic looking wing? Thank you. Keep up the great work

I stil don't get the very start - I thought you drew the sketch of wing on a regular paper - it all made sense until you put that cream latex between bones - like (sorry english is not my native language) that liquid latex goes solid and follows the shape we want after it dries out? Its a really common material for artists, maybe you can found it in an artist's library(I dont have it in my town, I need to buy it online or travel to another town to buy it too haha)

It appears to be, and I am fairly certain that is the only kind of liquid latex. You can find it on several websites, but I would recommend Amazon, Ebay or Wish.

You can usually get liquid latex at Wal-Mart in the Halloween section, maybe your Wal-Mart has it now. , And you can get it at Michael's and other craft stores. If your town has a Halloween store they will definitely have it also. Or you could just order it online, there are tons of places to order from

Remy N. I don't know how to fix the latex, but to reduce brush strokes, water your paint down. Using several watery layers will leave behind little to no brush strokes if done correctly as opposed to one or two thick layers.

There are some REALLY good tutorials on KZread and Pinterest for making costume wings of all sorts. I've been watching tutorials all day lol....I'm making a unicorn Halloween costume and I've never done this before. Latex would probably not be the best option, it would take alot if you're making large wings. I think I'm gonna use tights for mine. They stretch easily around the frame and are much easier and quicker

You can blowdry it on the highest heat setting and the lowest blowing setting, the bubbles will pop and leave a smooth Surface :)

I'm deciding when I do mine I don't add the wing hooks because they are for animals or dragons that don't have hands

Nopsu Nopsuliini I think it could be. but maybe use a thin fabric like muslin instead of latex as well as using a stronger wire. and maybe some sort of just simple straps like a backpack for how to get them on?

What else could we use for the inside of the wings? Because I'm allergic to latex, XD. Could you use resin, perhaps?
