HOW TO DEFEND YOURSELF when someone grabs you. Wing Chun techniques

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

In this video Neil Parris teaches how to defend yourself when someone grabs you. This is a simple Wing Chun technique that is easy to learn, but like all martial art techniques it must be practiced with pressure to be functional in a real self defence situation.
This Wing Chun self defence technique is broken down into easy steps making it ideal for the Wing Chun beginner and advanced martial art student alike to understand and practice the necessary components. If you're looking for what to do when someone grabs you this is will provide you with a good option when defending yourself against a very common method of control. The simplicity of this technique is what makes it so useful, making use of wing chun basics and combining techniques in a single action.

Nice grip but why look for the complexity of the gesture and go hit it directly on the face knowing that it's two weapons are stuck on your jacket thank you

Hi Kamel, thank you very much for your comment. I like how you think and would agree with you that if the opponents hands are occupied then a direct strike is best, but in the event that the opponent is off-balancing you, or setting up for a strike of their own other measures may need to be taken first. In these circumstances where the opponent has corrupted the defenders base of support striking would be less effective especially if the opponent is heavier. This is where gestures can enable the defender to regain some stability and hit where possible. I hope this helps to put it into perspective. best regards, Neil Parris
