Master Rhon Mizrachi: We're doing defense against a gun, forehead height. Please.
Student: Give me your money!
Master Mizrachi: Gun. You are allowed to make two assumptions, and they are not assumptions. It is what's going to happen. The minute you touched it, it'll go boom. And it's a fact. Right after it went boom, he's going to his arm back or his entire body back. And it's a fact as well. And if any gun defense that you have seen until now will not answer to these two obvious questions, then you should question your defense against a gun.
First of all, because it will fire, the number one priority is for me to get out of the line of the gun. That's first of all.
Second of all, I have to keep in mind that I'm going to have to chase it to some degree, because he's going to have to pull. I'm gonna get off the line, and I'm gonna strike him. And I'm gonna attack in, bringing the gun into his belly. From here, I'm going to yank it out, throw a fresh round empty chamber, and open the gap. If you are in the law enforcement community and this is not your weapon, you should clear the weapon and pull your own weapon out.
Please.
Thank you.
This is one. One, heads come up, forehead goes in. So if you look at it from the side, I'm actually here. Head. One. Back. One. Back. One. Back. It is done on one foot, and at the same time right foot kicks towards the groin. One. Back. One. Back. One. Back.
Once you hit, you grab, you lean forward, and you rotate to it. Most people ... Oh, what I should advise you to do is to take a small step, and to add a step with your left foot forward, because it will carry you slightly off his center, and it will make your life a lot more comfortable.
Head. One. Step and rotate to it. Rotate the gun out, and it's in your hands. Again. Head. One. Step and step, push it into him. Take the gun, and it's in your hand. I should tell you that if you happened to do it and the gun ended up in your hand, there's no reason to continue and chase him. You should just open the gap right away.
Please. Take the gun, start working. Every time you switch, because every time somebody else is going to end up with the gun. Step slow, please.
Smooth, try to maintain the motion smooth. Thank you very much.

    I'm sorry to break it to you, but you're going to run into two (or more) problems: 1. Thieves (or anyone for that matter) don't tend to stand that close to a person with a gun aimed at them. They'll probably be a few feet back from you. 2. The person wielding the gun most definitely will be able to pull the trigger before you can even attempt to do this.

    My Soke taught me this exact technique as well as others similar to it. He was a ranger in the army before he was my teacher. Its very quick and effective. He also told me the same thing about how the gun WILL discharge and the attacker will almost always try to recoil and create space between you. One thing I will add to this is, that knowledge of how a gun works and how to actually use a gun helps a lot when doing this technique. I had a much better appreciation for gun disarming techniques once I learned how to shoot, clear and maintain a firearm.

    I'm sure this guy knows much more than me when it come to martial arts. When it comes to firing a gun, all the best shooters have 'both' of their arms straight and it's only really in the movies/cop shows/ill informed the second hand is bent. I would train with nerf guns to see if you can actually not get shot, takes only a tiny movement of a finger to send a round off.

    This is why the first part of the disarm is to remove yourself from the line. That small duck he does happens so quickly that the opponent cannot pull the trigger fast enough. It is humanly impossible to react that quickly. This is why the gun does go off during the disarm, but always after you have cleared. There are videos of guys doing these disarms with real guns firing blanks. As to the question about resistance, even if both arms are straight it is irrelevant. Your leverage is coming from your core as you move forward, and is acting on the barrel of the gun and therefore his wrists and trigger finger. It is not possible, even for a much bigger opponent, to counter your core and body weight acting on the lever of the barrel. He will let go, or he will break a finger and lose the gun anyway.

  • @chrismlone

    @chrismlone

    9 жыл бұрын

    @blogobre Yeah, but it all comes down to human reaction. Can you react fast than the man with the gun? That's all it is at the end of the day. We got taught to use subtle distrations (granted they might not even work) But for example, be submissive so slowly out your hands up to surrender but at gun level which cuts down the distance in which you have to react, talk a lot as well. Something like, "Have my watch" so the gun man looks at your wrist or to your pocket for money. Just very simple distractions to give you that split second reaction, which is enough for you to be faster than him.

    I was shown this technique in Krav Maga, it has at least one flaw that I can see. On a semi-auto pistol of the type he is holding, the slide will go back when the gun goes off. If you are holding this part of the pistol the front site is going to slice your hand open and you are going to let go involuntarily.

    Could probably work in some situations. What most miss to inform is about the mental part. Training in a dojo or other areas is one thing, walking down the street in the night when it's raining and someone smacks you in the face and points a real gun to your face is another. Training in a dojo will only take you this far, training outside in different environments at different times will probably give you a higher chance to make these techniques work a little better. No hate though, it's fun to watch and try what others practice and think. I'm sure someone will disagree with what I think too.

    @@rllys1mple681 A citizen can only pull a firearm when their life is in danger. As in someone has a weapon aimed at you, or is firing at you, or someone else. It is only to stop an active situation but if someone is fleeing (unless they are posing additional threats, like wearing a bomb vest and running towards a crowd etc) you cannot fire at them or "hold them". That is on duty police only. Additionally think about what were to happen if they didnt listen to your commands and ran, what would you do then? These are sticky law situations that land people in jail, so my advice to any legal gun owner is to really understand their local laws and maybe even take a class on just the legal aspects. As a correctional officer I see many "heros" who were trying to do the "right thing" in jail. You dont want to be locked up for that trust me... jail sucks. The legal system is far from perfect (and I am the last person who will ever defend every law because many of them need revising or removal), but not knowing them can cost you dearly.

    I don't know much about this kind of situation but I do know one thing: if the gun is ready to fire, then you don't need to re-chamber a round. You only rack the slide when you're loading a round in and most semi-auto pistols --assuming the gun is functional-- will load another round into the chamber after having fired the first bullet. Long story short, re-racking the slide is unnecesary.

  • @ZeroChaos80

    @ZeroChaos80

    He said that the gun would fire when you duck and hit up at it. The chamber of another round is assuming the gun did fire when you shoved upward in the first move. Or the intended victim could just stand there pointing the gun in the person's direction with the attacker knowing there's not a round in the chamber. (That would be the mistake I'd make so my only protection would be to throw the gun at him!) Again, assuming it did fire in the first move.

    This is probably one of the best disarms I've seen. I incorporate some Krav Maga techniques into my street defense curriculum because Krav Maga is so bombastic and explosive. I don't teach this technique because you must already be a proficient martial artist, specifically a Krav Maga practitioner, to make this technique work. I came here from another video that shows a so-called bushido technique (it's not bushido) to disarm a gun, that if employed in a real world sutuation, you will absolutely get shot in the head. The key point that I really like about this technique is that while ducking and twisting the gun upward and back into your opponent's close quarters, your chance of getting shot is extremely low. To quote ASP, "Wait your turn." Then strike if appropriate. Always counter attack from the ambush so that your assailant isn't expecting it. Don't ever telegraph or resist, in fact, do the opposite. Feign submission and fear while assessing the sutuation. You may only have a millisecond to react and you better not miss your window. Your life could depend on it.

    There are videos on KZread concerning this question, including a few videos of people actually testing this with live rounds. The gun going off while you have hold of the slide will not cut or burn you. There is even the off chance of the gun not going off because grabbing the slide could put the gun out of battery.

    I agree. Out of all the known close quarter combat systems, krav maga has been tested on the battlefield probably the most (in recent times). Most of there weapons disarming techniques seem pretty good to me. As far as the people who say it won't work, it may not because the dude with the gun has a big advantage and especially if he knows how to use it.

    For the setup, this would work but if you watch the vids on ASP's channel, you will see that most perps or muggers use a stiff arm to keep people at a distance while holding the gun in the opposite hand and back. The problem is the gun isn't reachable without climbing over the stiff arm and you will get shot trying to do it.

    This is the most coherent question about this video until now, IMHO... I guess you have to chase him real quickly, rotating the gun so you can have it from the attacker at the same time you keep him from pulling it off. Then you strike him, so you can stun him somehow and pull the weapon out of his hands . Krav Maga is mostly about speed, for what I know. So, this must be real quick. And it has to be a natural (conditioned) reaction from the body. I don't practice Krav Maga. This is just what I have observed and it may be wrong. So, this is open to discussion as well.

  • @KMProtectionServices

    @KMProtectionServices

    Glauber Cantacini Thanks for comment… I understand the way you try make logic of the move, however in reality it either works or it doesn't. In reality it will never work 100% and you need the move to work even when it's not perfect. Some moves work even 99% of the time.. I prefer to have something work100% of the time when my life is on the line. So our techniques work all the time, they may not look fancy but they always work even when not done exactly 100%. You do need speed, but technique and aggression are important in the same way. I am always willing to openly discuss and test techniques, including mine.

    John Vadasz There is no move you can possible do, that gives you a full 100%. Never! I did Karate since i was 6 years old, got over KungFu and now do Jiujitsu, which i like a lot, but it is kind of the "Gentleman's Way", while Krav Maga was developed by Israeli special forces to counter fight terrorists and i believe no other country in the world has to face a similar thread on a daily basis,so my point is, that i do think in real live, their efficiency is almost unmatched!

    Jonny Bravo What I mean by 100% is that you will defend yourself 100%. This does not mean you will not get hurt, but you will survive. The techniques we teach do work 100% in the manner I speak of above. I too did many martial arts since I was 5. Interesting also the ones you did and still do, and also interesting that you realise the limitations yourself. I know Krav Maga well and I am Israeli myself. The problem these days is that you will rarely find True Krav Maga. Most is commercialised and has not been adapted in a very long time. Just a thought, be careful of anyone claiming a self defense school of any style that has "Gentleman's Way" in it. There is no such thing in real life.

    @John Vadasz hahaha i like your last sentence - very true. It was my own words, with which i wanted to express that Jiujitsu is not that kind of aggressive in it`s style. Here the link, maybe you could give me some thoughts. And dont be bewildered, that they also offer Pilates and stuff, thats normal here for schools to do! www.centropaulistadekravmaga.net.br/index.php/

Remember, crooks r always sneaky , so before you go anywhere like around a corner,or in a back ally,always check out your surroundings before u go any further, look for shadows , sounds in odd places that should not be. Don't be using headphones going in them areas either, unless u want to be blindsided. Being very observant will save your life,I don't care if someone is with you,always keep up your guard, a lunatic could be lying in wait for u just around the corner. .😈😈😈

I've trained in these techniques for home invasion though, because the first step is to avoid conflict. Someone asking me for my wallet at gun point, I will just give it to them. Do not underestmate your opponent. What will happen if the one who directs the gun to you, knows the technics? Do you think that he can not apply any more technic apart from directing the gun to you.

    No matter how much of a pro you are, it will always be a surprise form someone to take your gun away in under a second. No time to react. Thats why where I'm from they say if someone uses a move that is fast and effective no matter how good you are you wont be able to defend against it.

    adding to my previous comment we stepped but it was back step if the Gun was pointed at the chest (1st a twist, 2nd get the gun) or if the person is bigger need to off balance pulling and stepping back .... creating the gap while taking the gun ...
