If you clean ALL the dust off the rubber gaskets, the bin will be hard to open and close. It actually uses the dust as a dry lubricant. After the gaskets are FULLY dry rub a small amount of talcum powder on the gaskets and you’re set.

It’s easier to initially clean out the High Torque head with a small paint brush. Then after removing the beater, push a moist microfiber cloth behind the remaining roller with a chopstick or other blunt tool. Be patient. The gunk on the clear plastic comes off after a few rubs.

Very good video on deep cleaning. My problem is the roller bar will not spin and appears to be locked into position. The roller itself does not turn even when manually trying to turn it. Once the end piece is in Unlock position, the bar will not move out of the casing head. I'm afraid to get too aggressive in trying to remove the roller bar. Everything is cleaned out from the roller bar, including the ends. The main motor works fine with all the other attachments and all electronic connections are clean. I'm at a loss other than buying a used replacement. Any suggestions in trying to remove the roller bar?

The problem is that that inside of the motor unit builds up with dust and debris. Either the older Dyson’s like the DC25 you could run water through the entire assembly. A long bottle brush kind of works.

I was determined to get the plastic shield looking clean. A damp rag did not do the job. So, I used a Mr. Clean scrub sponge. It did a great job on the the shied.

have 2 outsize and torque (multi purchases of v6,v10,v11) ...love my outsize but roller stopped spinning. It starts to spin and stops a second later and motor unit makes a different sound. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. No clogs/hair in wand, roller, and clean filter. watched your video on v6 but canister is different. Any suggestions? Also the one of the rollers on v11 outsize won't work at all even plugged into other motor units. Any suggestions?

Look for a clog in the tunnel leading to the filter. I just pulled a ton of rug fiber out of mine. I didn’t even know this was an area that could clog as it’s a very smooth channel with no sharp bends. The pulsing is a dead giveaway it’s a clog

You need to make clear that cleaning the bin and seals may cause the bin opening mechanism to stick (you may have lucked out and did not have to do this but many people have been frustrated by this issue). As others in this thread have pointed out and other videos address, you need to rub talcum powder or corn starch on the bin seals after cleaning, otherwise the the soft silicone rubber will stick to the internal parts they are int contact with. The dust acts as a lubricant to allow the seals to slide across the internal parts.

That’s the problem with these cordless units, cleaning out the motor head. Why they didn’t make the plastic side so it could come apart easily so you could flush with water is bad design in my opinion. There are screws to take it apart but it’s a real pain so not really a solution. I think a long thin bottle brush or a thin air compressor rod might be the only viable solutions.
