Ma'am i am planning to buy a dishwasher in 14 place settings. Voltas or Faber?

Again a very timely and useful video. Three factors are also worth consideration before a decision to buy a dishwasher is taken. First, the space for a dishwasher is of great importance. We had created a dedicated space for a dishwasher, about 9 years ago. as such when last year we bought LG dishwasher, it was simply slipped below the kitchen top. plumbing and electrical connection were already there. If there is no extra space in kitchen, a table top dishwasher with 8 place setting would be the simple solution. A 12 place or 14 place dishwasher, with stainless steel tub is of great advantage as it helps in fast drying of the utensils, without any heater or fan. Basic Bosch and Neptune dishwashers have plastic tubs, resulting in difficult drying of utensils. Thirdly, many new dishwashers are having old styled push buttons and rotary controls, which are prone to malfunction in long run. It is better to have a dishwasher with sleek buttons or touch buttons. Lastly the budget is the ultimate decider, but investing in a sturdy and good dishwasher is always better as it lasts for 15 to 20 years.

Auto cycle taking about 150 minutes is normal and healthy. Longer cycles are utensil friendly as they use lesser temperature and less probing water jets. All the Modern Dishwashers work like that. Great points, for the prospective buyers.

My top most reason for deciding to go for a DW is water conservation...I actually like washing dishes by hand it's kinda therapeutic for me..but once I got to know the difference in water usage, it's just sitting in d back of my head every time I'm washing dishes..2nd reason is the clutter less look in kitchen..no more dirty dishes piled in sink or clean dishes drying on the counter.

Hi Priyadarshini! That's also true. But number of people definitely indicates number of vessels will be higher :) It also depends on how people would load their dishwasher - some people pile one top of each other (not recommended!) which could mean a smaller size is enough for them.

There are many videos on youtube about people returning their LG dishwasher. Many have complained about HE error code and heater problems. Bosch series 4 seems to be the best. Never found a video about returning back a Bosch dishwasher

Thank you for the feedback. I have recently heard about the heating problem on LG. But we do have a few very happy viewers of LG dishwasher too. Bosch has much more experience with Dishwashers, I agree.

@@TheGrapevineIndia Yes mam, there are happy users of LG dishwashers but if you look at their videos they have actually bought the dishwasher recently. In a months time they may also face issues. It's very sad to see a high end dishwasher giving silly minor problems. Being an advanced dishwasher it cannot even continue the cycle after a power cut. I was very much inclined to buying an LG dishwasher but seeing the problems I think Bosch series 4 is the best. Also LG has no experience in making dishwashers. Bosch is doing it for a long time. Hope Bosch also comes out with a higher end model .

That makes sense. I’m using the Faber dishwasher for last 8 months and it’s been very good. Normally use the auto mode or the short cycle when in a hurry - problems at all.

Another factor for me to consider are the noise levels. Some dishwashers tend to be very loud and drown out all conversations in the house.

Hi Anirudh! That's true, although most new age dishwashers don't make much sound. I have personally seen the new Faber, Voltas and Bosch models

I hv a baby now and i m not comfortable with maid as my utensils are expensive and delicate and dishwasher counting only dishes but coocking utensils are not considered so i m also buying bigger dishwasher it is still wating to come. I m desperately waiting for it. Managing cooking baby care and doing dishes are tough.

Hi Suvarna, yes it will be very useful. I bought mine when the lockdown opened up last year. It was tough to manage work and home without house help. Right now - I don't have house help. Robot vacuum cleaner for cleaning and dishwasher for washing dishes.

Hi Kaveri Sapra! You can consider Hafele for 14 place hafeleappliances.com/dishwasher/fully-integrated-dishwasher/serene-fi-02. Or Bosch which comes with 13 place like this amzn.to/3DPaVqT. There are some other new brands (like this amzn.to/3feShhI) to consider, but not faced the test in the market - so I don't recommend. I recommend higher than 12 place for a family of 6.

Hi Soumya.. I just happened to come across your channel today and loved it. It is so informative and has all the details that I need. I have a doubt regarding the salts used in dishwasher. If I am using softened water in my house, do I still need to use salts in the diswasher?? Another thing is to know if you have any idea on which is the best Cooking range available in India tht runs on electricity as well as Lpg? Thankyou for all these informative videos... HI Divya, thank you :) Yes the dishwasher has a water softener within it by default and you need to add salt to it. If you have soft water, you can set it to the minimum setting so consumption will be limited. About cooking ranges - I have not yet researched that, but most cooking ranges come as a combination - electricity for the oven and LPG for the stove. Thanks for the feedback on the home :) I've considered that, but not yet gotten to it. Hi Akilesh! Actually that is a default. All dishwashers should auto restart. LG specifically has that issue though but that is an outlier.

But in auto mode LG it will take 3hrs.38mts with steam selection....in my opinion it is a long time...is it necessary?

Auto mode gives good efficiency and cleaning. You can try out some of the other modes and check if cleaning is the same. For example - for me the 90min mode also does well as opposed to the 150min for auto mode.

Hi Arpit! Go for a 14 or 15 place setting one. Bosch and IFB have been around for a while, so their after sales service is validated. I use Faber - after sales service for dishwasher is not yet validated but product is really good. So you can pick one of these 3 brands based on your preference. Don’t go for Lg as they have some issues in some machines.

I like to go for Bosch. What's your comment on it

Hi Mohit, Siemens home appliances is now part of the Bosch group. So the appliances are almost the same and serviced by the same entity. I have not done detailed research on siemens yet. Between the two - you can pick either - although I would prefer Bosch as they have a more reputed name in dishwashers in India.

Consumers should be extremely careful about the Power Technical specifications especially the Maximum Power Consumption (kW) and Heating Element, and check if their MCB can withstand the load to avoid power tripping issues! :-)

Hi Vismit, I would highly recommend you to call the Bosch and Faber service centers in your area and ask if they support your area. I'm guessing service may be a bit flaky by Faber as they do it through 3rd party network which is good in large cities, but in small towns they may not be aware much of Dishwashers. Product wise, you can go with either!

Hi Saumya, LG has all stainless steel internal coating plus 4 way water release, steam option etc. Is it worth the premium over Bosch which is the go to choice? Within LG the 14 place setting in white colour is like 5k lesser, any difference apart from colour? Your views will be helpful for me to take a call..TIA

Hi Bhanu, all new dishwashers have a water softening system that can handle upto 900 PPM. Depending on what the TDS is in your area - you can decide whether you need an external water softner or not .

Hey! My mom doesn't gel well with the house maids so I want her to have an easier time as she has to single handedly manage the house! We're a small family of 3! And even that is mostly cut down to 2 when I'm in Bombay for my work. Is the Voltas 8 table any good? I saw your video regarding what and what not to put in the dishwasher? Would that be worse off in the Voltas 8 table one, since it's cheaper?

Hi! Thats a lovely thought to buy one for your mom. At that price range, the voltas table top version is the best option. Also for a small family - it is sufficient. If required, they can run 2 cycles in a day. What to put and what not to put is consistent for all dishwashers - not any different for Voltas. Hope she likes the gift!

Hi Matthew - if budget is a concern - Voltas Beko DF14W is the best at that pricepoint. The capabilities are almost the same as a full sized dishwasher except that the knobs and display is fairly manual. Hi Matthew - looking into the specs - not much difference. The Bosch version you are looking at is 12 place setting, so may hold fewer vessels than the 14 place setting Voltas. But Bosch has been in this space for a fairly longer time, so if that gives you a bit more comfort, you can go with Bosch.

Voltas Beko has two 14 place dishwashers. I bought DF14S2, which was priced at 38800/- Buying 14 place dishwasher is better as 8 place, 12 place and 14 place dishwashers consume equal amount of Salt, Detergent and Rinse Aid. In fact DF14S2 consumes lesser electricity than a 8 place or 12 place dishwasher as it has inverter motor. Voltas Beko and Faber are 2 dishwashers with stainless steel tub and have maximum wash cycles. Bosch, Siemens and IFB have not upgraded their dishwashers despite raising the prices.

My mother has no time for washing utensils. It's very time consuming & problematic task. She doesn't use sink. We can't use maid, they aren't available in my village.

Hi, it will accomodate 5ltr cooker but you will be able to add very few vessels after that. Also I think you may need more than one run for Cycle for your family. I have just 2 people and a 14 place setting Faber - I still need one full load per day.

LG is silent and is the only dishwasher with steam wash option.

I returned LG after using it for 15 months. LG is a very sturdy dishwasher but it has a problem. If there is power outage, it does not resume exactly from the last stage. It's heater is also not reliable. I have purchased Voltas Beko. It has steam option and inverter motor like LG and is more reliable, economic than LG. Voltas has inverter motor like LG but has 12 years warranty whereas LG has 10 years warranty on it's motor. If you do not have power outage issue, you can continue with LG.

Gifting my wife. As we both are working i want to cut down the household works. So more family time.
