You are a blessing. 😭❤️ I found your videos cuz I’ve been getting frustrated at work. I have autism and am fortunate enough to be able to work in a regular workplace ok, but I still don’t always understand the social nuances of coworkers. Consequently I think I’ve been getting steamrolled and find myself having to work more weekends, getting less help for my area than others, etc. You explain things so I can understand what exactly I’m dealing with and why it happens and how I can stop it. THANK YOU.

Thank you so much for this video. I had a fellow co-worker rage on me for a favor I did for my boss. I got dragged into HR for how I triggered her. WTF? This girl raged on two other people in same day, but it's my fault? We don't even work in the same state. I got, she was stressed by year end audit. I said, I know I was supporting that audit. Never got an "I'm sorry". There is no place for rage in the workplace. I never replied to her I knew better. Boy did I want to. But I am not wasting 3 years of therapy on her issues and unprofessionalism. Very actively looking for another job. Wish me luck. Love your channel.

As always Dan, you are so spot on with your advice! I just left a role due to relentless bullying and not seeing a way out. Seeing that I've been far too nice and too willing to allow others to walk all over me has been so powerful. It's sad that it has taken me almost half my life (and my entire career) to realise this. I stood up to a recruiter today over the phone who was speaking down to me and not listening to my needs. It was incredibly powerful to take back the power and knowing I control my own destiny! It definitely goes back to high school. The role you have in high school is the role you'll have by default in the workplace. I was the loner, hard worker, straight A student, asked to perform extra tasks at school for minimal benefit... yup... mirrored that into the workplace! I will be starting a freedom fund at my next employer. My fund normally comes from the payout of annual leave (like right now) 😂 I have a habit of not taking holidays so it works out 😆 I definitely need to change some spending habits! Thanks again Dan ❤

Woah..not everyone can just do job switches like had the privilege of doing...I hope you can find the understanding and compassion of where I am coming from. I work in public healthcare so this is going to a very specific audience. I have gone to HR about someone who abusively YELLED at me..and they were going to take care of it if needed. Neither HR nor the head of my facility was amused by the coworkers' abusive yelling at me, especially with VERY vulnerable patients. Eventually, I approached the coworker. She tried to gaslight me and I repeated what I said the first time, "No, what you did is considered workplace violence just like the poster up in the elevator that discusses it. Abusively yelling at me is considered violence." She then apologized and said she didn't want any issues. I said I did not either. I want to address it and move on and hope to work in civil teamwork professionalism. The only bullies in my life are my mother, and father and well I walked away from my bully domestically violent brother.

If I may answer from my heart? Yes, if you choose to do such, Dan just gave you the blueprint to be able to regain your dignity. Your first sentence only tells your brain that you are a victim. I have been in healthcare for over 50 years in one of the most difficult positions as a dentist. My front desk has been with me since 1986 and most of my staff is plus 20 years. Because I am profoundly dyslexic I was labeled "Unteachable" in first grade in 1955. I have the report card. So for the other kids because I was stupid, I was nice focus for others to try to bully. My father left before I was born and my mother dumped me off at 4 months old with my great grandmother. I grew up in foster homes and was on the streets at 16 while I dropped out of high school. I am a graduate of USC because I refused to be a victim. I am not big deal except I refuse to be placed in a position where "I have to..."And at almost 75, I am still listening to people such as Dan and working hard to incorporate his advise into my life. People yell at my staff all of the time due to insurance claims and their misunderstanding of how insurance does or does not pay. So, January 1, 2024 we no longer will accept insurance as I have done what Dan has stated in his video...created a safety fund. I don't have to do such. I think it was Budda who stated that if you do not accept verbal abuse from others, who actually owns the verbal abuse? (paraphrased). At 16 all I had was the clothes on my back. It is not a privilege to switch jobs as I have been in the same job since 1969--it is refusing to be a victim. My wife and I met at 16 where as her home life was not stellar. Dan is not talking about "just" switching jobs. He is telling to plan and plan some more so you can switch jobs. You missed his purpose of his video. I believe he is telling us that if we want something better, we must change, not the environment. You might want to read, "As a Man Thinkest" by James Allen. Blessings as you continue to grow and I give you as much praise I can give you for listening to Dan. Sent with understanding and compassion which I hope you notice.

@@desertpatient WOW! What an incredibly resistant soul you are. I know most trauma survivors do not like hearing that due to all the trauma they went through b/c it was horrible what you endured. You give me hope, even if our jobs are different and require different skill sets - mine is a lot more physical while dealing with 4 different painful chronic diseases, yet I LOVE it. It also allows me to have compassion and empathy for my patients as a patient attendant. I adore where I am at working in neurological rehab. & even if I wanted to do a less demanding job in the public healthcare system, it all depends on seniority. I take the info I can and leave the rest yet the reality is, not everyone can do that. they just try to make their days better by incorporating more self-care habits or more kind environments. Thank you for the book recommendation. I have heard of it before and now that you have brought it up again, I am adding it to my list to read. Stay Blessed and healthy!

No joke but after losing my job, being on a sickness benefit and being scamed all or most of my resigned pay out money. It made see that I can pay bills, put money in car maintenance, money aside to savings for emergencies and maybe some money for online or skills with $430 and still have money left for food. Obviously with in my parents house. As I thought I needed $700 with all of that because I spent it on food I didn't need and spending it on extra petrol driving to places that's not even worth it instead of saving petrol. I'm glad to learnt this lesson.

One reason for this is that those disputes are legion :). Your dispute was unique.

I lost my job at a car dealership once because it was family owned and I went to HR about being harassed basically someone was suddenly getting aggressive with me and slamming keys at my desk blaming me for something beyond my control. I complained about the way this individual went about interacting with me and the next day I was callled into the office and given my last paycheck. Years later I come back and it’s alll good between me and the individual who still works there. It’s like a knowing, if you can’t take the heat then get out of the kitchen and that dealership included a LOT of inappropriate behavior from sales, techs, service ppl you name it. Car dealerships can be kind of sleazy.

Negative side of that, is that his friends bullied me for a year after that and also resident narcissists will have a field day using it against you, do exactly the same thing as the previous person and make you look like the problem. So yes, it is a fairy tale in the original versions of the stories 😂

I wore a pair of high heeled running shoes that I wore one day at my office at my front desk and a co-worker "Real Estate Agent" said "omg who buys shoes like that" I had to say to that girl who dressed like she just cleaned out her garage, no makeup and messy hair .. and shall I mention she was a Real Estate Agent ... I just had to say, with respect to her that she should have fun with fashion ... I work our front desk at a Real Estate Office and I would think a Real Estate Agent would have at least some fashion sense no ?? She was so insulting to me, I just wanted to share with you how how other girls are so jealous of others ... so sad

Anyway, this applies to me, not in the office, but in life. If I had heard these words years ago I may not have stayed in an abusive marriage for so long. I was like the elephant. I didnt know I could do something else I really didnt know. Or I forgot I had the ability to smash the man poking me in the ass with his bull hook making me paint. Lol. The world should hear this again and again until everyone fully understands this and never forgets it. I know i will be listening to this as many times as it takes until I never again forget it.
