Hi which is the best way and equipment to prepare a Gasoline car meet an emission norm on Natural Gas fuel, would using a wideband AFR be good , but are there AFR configured for 15.7:1 on NG ? Can matching the fuel trims on Gasoline and Natural gas help by using SCT X4 if the fuel trims can be seen in a graph on both fuels using this SCT X4.. sorry long question :(

You didn't show how to connect the x4 to the pc. I can't remeber where I put my cable. I have a drawer full of cables and I don't know which one to use.

So before data logging we need to know what PIDs to select which I’m assuming the tuner lets you know?

I’m having trouble data logging. I don’t get the actual option on livelink to log, could it be because I have a preloaded tune from sct?

Could not find all the Pids my tuner requested so they told me to contact SCT. I was then informed by SCT that a reptutable tuner should supply a custom config file I can import. My S/C 5.0 F150 runs great on the custom tune but I'd like to know if it's safe because I get some surging around 3500 rpm. A local dyno shop said they could check it out and might be the best route considering the $ invested.

I've contacted them, they are well know in email tune world. But I never get a reply back. I gave up on them. It's a 91 octane tune as that's all I can get around here and I only use one gas station that sells ethanol free 91.

Steve007362436 Really you can do it yourself. Since your boosted, go with a boost gauge if you care. Main ones for safety wiuld be Knock Sensor and Spark. Then choose Air Fuel ratio. Those are main ones you need.

Wait. How are you using the software on the pc when the tuner is plugged into the car odb2 port? Is the device plugged into the pc simultaneously with the micro usb cable?

Yes.

Isn’t this redundant? The X4 unit can log all by itself then you just take it and plug it into your computer inside the house. You don’t need to drag a laptop along for the ride do you.

I need help, whenever I press “check communication” it doesn’t find the device. I’ve tried unplugging and plugging back in, the device has the latest update. What else can I do?

Shoot your tuner here an email or just an email to sales@vmpperformance.com and they'll respond to you with what PIDs they'd like to see for your application while datalogging.

so I take it you can only do this with a laptop? I don't have a laptop I have a desktop thou......

Set what up? It says the car has to be connected to the device and the computer has to be connected to the device at the same time. How is this possible without a laptop?
