thank you for the very simply explained video. I have a 7.2 V 3800 mA that’s going on nine months old now and when I checked the resistance on my charger resistance came in at over 900. it could mean that the battery has been used so much almost every weekend and sometimes during the week and then probably not charged properly at first, that it could just be wore out. Please shoot me a message back if you wish with your comments on what I’ve just said.

Depending how you use your battery and how you charge it. And how you cycle it might determine its life but unfortunately some batteries May not be the same it’s just it’s nature it may last like it may not last might give you different resistance

I have one question. Got myself a 6volt, 5cell, 4600mAH Nimh battery for my Baja. I kinda messed up with the discharging... (got a IMAX b6 mini as a charger) I hooked it up and ordered my charger to decrease the volts to 4V. with a 1,1 phase. In stead of 1.0 volts..🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️ When i came back and noticed what happened. I flipped the switch in the on position to let the servos drain the battery and call it a night. The next moring the battery is low.. nothing is working so I started charging it and find out that only 1153mah was pumped into the battery... and has a volt's of 6,43V...... sooooooo. Did I messed up my battery or is there still a change that I can restore it? Sinds it is a new battery. Hope that you can help me out 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

Sorry for the late reply for an nimh battery it’s normal for the battery to be more than 6 V when she’s fully charged basically what I’m seeing is the discharge way you use is not correct. What you’re going to need to do on your charger go to nimh mode. Then select cycle you will need to cycle your battery at least once or twice now I cannot guarantee you will be able to get the full capacity back of your battery you might be able to get good part of it back but you should never plug in your battery putting the switch on and leave it on for nothing. Doing a cycle charge on your battery will help you a lot.

Using a multimeter will not get you a correct reading. The reason why because you don’t have a load on the battery once you put a load I’ll give you a different reading you might have a bad cell in it. When you put it on the charger verify if it’s not a cell hotter than the other ones. If that’s the case then you have a bad cell.

I if your battery is nimh end it has a few years it might’ve created itself a memory. When that happens it decreases your running time. The other issue might be when you’re charging it if you feel one cell hotter than the other ones or one cell boiling hot that means there is a defect cell or a dead cell and dad will decrease your performance. Reason one if it’s an old battery you might need a new one reason to if when cell gets hotter than the other ones you have a damage battery time to get a new one. Now if it’s a lipo you might have a damage cell and your lipo.
