I cut my hair myself once or twice a month and only go to the barber when I have a wedding or any other special occasion event going on. I remember what he told me the first time I told him I had been cutting my hair “wow the top is getting long...” 😂 damn right it is, that’s why I’m here.

Guys, don’t be scared. I’m a girl and I’ve buzzed my own hair for some time before. I only used one big mirror for the front, and a smaller, hand held mirror to check the back. It’s easier than you think. I was also terrified at first, but if I could do it, so can you! 😅🤣👍 Oh, and I’m a perfectionist.

Got this video recommended again. When I first saw it, I started cutting my own hair. Now that I have some experience it's all working pretty well and I'm glad I started doing it
I`ve been cutting my hair the last two years. At first, it was scary as shit, but got tired of shitty barbers. Now I save time, money and I`m completely self-sufficient. Good tutorial man. Cheers.
Looks very good, I cut my undercut myself too, but I'm not brave enough to try a fade. You made it look fairly easy though. The 3 way vanity mirror is a must if you want to try this, it makes it SO much easier.
WARNING: if it is your first time fading PLEASE make sure you are using the same mirrors as my guy over here does in this video or you will end up having to go bald!

Ive been cutting/trimming my own hair for a few years now. You definitely need some 1) patience 2) focus 3) more patience.. lol I do it coz half the time I go to a barbershop or even salons they always dont do a great job. And I always have to do some trimmings of my own. So I learned to cut my own hair. Also, at one point was just too busy to go to a barber/salon, getting an appointment with the specific person I like getting my hair cut from can get annoying. And with work load and school work piling up.. it was more convenient for me to cut my own hair. And Ive gotten better and better. Now I dont bother going to a barber/salon. Note: definitely not perfect either.. but I think Ive done better job cutting my own hair than most barbers/salons Ive been too. Plus.. yeah its free.. gotta love that 😉👌🏻

Same here. Even though I believe that most barbers will still do a better job, I have had MANY bad experiences in the past. Also I hate to wait for stuff and barbers in my area are crowded most of the time. Best thing about it, it's free FOREVER. I even started cutting my brothers and fathers hair
Great!!! I am impressed. Seriously it looks brilliant. 👏
Haha "it's not perfect but it's free" is exactly what I say! I cut my own hair too but I don't do fades I just go 5mm all the way to the edge but seeing how you do I'm going for a fade next time! Awesome video!

Can someone explain what guard open is meant to mean and what it does ??
I tried this two times in my life.... both times I ended up cutting EVERYTHING off going full 1mm I got very dark hair while beeing pretty pale so getting rid of those lines with my cheap machine was absolutely impossible for me Still I clean up my neck and shorten my sides on my own when everything is a little longer so mistakes aren't as obvious You did pretty damn well , should just keep doing this honestly it saves A LOT of money. Going to a barber just to get your sides done always felt like a waste of money to me

So I only need to get a magic clip or do i need both clips? Because you linked 2 different ones so im a little confused
I also cut my own hair, at home. Practice makes perfect indeed, or close to! I made mistakes, sure, but now after a few years i am doing it every week with ease, no more fear but experience and with a lot of money saved that i didn't spent on a barber!

To avoid messing up too early here is a tip. Start with your LONGEST guard first, and work your way DOWN to the smallest. This way if you mess up its WAY easier to hide it and salvage your cut.

Good job mate! I have absolutly the same here as you do.
It's impressive how much patience you have.
Growing up my family didn't have much money. My dad used to just give me a buzz cut. When I got older and got my first job I went to the barber and got my haircut. Spent $16. Then I realized how much of a waste of money it was. I started experimenting when I was about 16 on how to cut my own hair, first few times were a disaster and I completely fucked up. But over the years I got better and better, now I'm 22 years old and have have almost never been to a barber. I can do everything, fades, undercut, regular cut, edging etc. My tip for all beginners - just do it, if u mess up it ok, wear a hat for a few days, you will eventually get better and you wallet will thank you. Plus you'll save so much time which you can never get back. Cheers.

Cut my hair for a second time just recently, first time was discouraging, I was like f this, I’ll just pay $25, but when you get through it you’re kinda satisfied, it wasn’t perfect but I told my buddies I cut my own hair and they said that’s pretty decent for first time. Just did it again today for the second time and was more happy with result, not perfect but I saved $30, cuts here are $25 plus $5 tip.
