I've tried this so many times in my life and failed every time. Now at 38 I'm having my first success, and it's exactly about what you are saying. The biggest difference for me has been shifting from a mindset of "oh shit it's summer next month I gotta look good" to "practice daily and patiently, results will come and at some point the future will be the present"

You're spot on about specific weight goals at the gym. I just go in with a vague amount for each exercise, trying to remember what I lifted last time, etc.

If sitting and meditation feels pointless or overwhelming, think about it as “listening.” Remember, the more you do, the more you’re able to do. A nice self-love practice is talking to yourself and saying kind words, congratulating, and loving yourself up.

It's so hard to avoid stress eating when there are other things in life that are difficult. Because for me it genuinely helps. I know it is self-destructive like you're saying but it is very comforting in the moment where I need to be comforted. I've lost a lot of weight before and it was genuinely easier than I thought, through simple CICO, but now that I'm struggling mentally and I'm more prone to comfort eat fitness and staying physically healthy is a whole different beast. I know I can do it, so I'll keep fighting, but man without feeling capable of self-gratitude it's damn hard

Speaking for myself, the metrics by those weird impedance machines definitely helps me out. You're right, in the sense that they always produce numbers higher than you expect, but you have to do two things: Take those measurements with a grain of salt, and use them comparatively against itself. Just because the instrument is inaccurate doesn't mean it is imprecise. They can definitely highlight trends along the way. Progress isn't linear. These machines can show you if you're on the right track, or even better, catch a mistake before it gets out of control. Sometimes it feels like you're just on a plateau, but in reality you're gaining a lot. Data will always make you more aware of whats happening and allow you to be proactive every step of the way. Just my 2 pennies

Speak to yourself and say things like “I love you, thank you, and I will never let you down.” Do this for 15 days and see how you change. The practice of gratitude means that one is not just naturally grateful, one practices and just like anything else, it takes time to grow that muscle 💜

For people struggling with a calorie deficit, just skip your breakfast. Drink plenty of water and start eating at 11 or 12. Its not an extreme fast so you won't loose your sanity doing this and you can eat 3 meals on your deficit macros the remaining day. It is easier to track it this way.

Content Ideas that suit your channel, in my opinion: 1. Exploring the nuances of maintaining muscle mass and body weight throughout the year is an interesting topic that I haven't found much on KZread. It could delve into aspects like determining calorie needs, workout routines, whether to increase weights post reaching an ideal physique, or focusing on muscle definition through rep adjustments. 2. I've noticed there's no content on leg training in your videos. I'm curious about your perspective on legs. While some fitness influencers emphasize building tree trunk legs, is it genuinely aesthetic? What's the preference when it comes to leg size, especially from a female perspective? 3. I appreciate the aesthetic appeal of your thumbnails, photos, and video visuals. I'd love insights into how you pose or any tips you have for capturing great pictures. It seems like there's more to it than just having a well-defined physique.

Im not native english speaker. AI helps me to expose what i think better. If I dont use AI to correct my mistakes, people cannot understand what i actually mean. So whats wrong with it weird guy? I just type what i need to type and then asking AI to find what are the mistakes that i made, and then it tries to make the text more natural. Im trying to lose fat by going into a caloric deficit but i don't know how much i should eat or not eat, most apps are only for weight loss, and i want to stay the same weight but just gain muscle and lose some fat to see my abs. Do you have any advice?

  • @wanheekim

not that simple. you will probably need to cycle cut and bulk, recomp is a process. cut to get fat down while still training, then when you will see more of what you already have without losing muscle. Then bulk to build definition, rinse and repeat till you get where you want.

@@lemaitrethemonk you'll get there. I started off from switching from full sugar pop to sugar free. Then 6k steps per day. Then started going gym and got a PT to teach me the basics of strength training. Over the year increased steps to eventual 13k per day and training 5 times a week. On the peak months, 1500 calories a day with 130g of protein. The best advice I will give, build it up in steps don't go all out. When you see the difference it's making it'll motivate you to keep going.

If I may add, when you are that young you are body is still in constant development. Keep doing sports and combine with regular push ups before pull ups specifically and a few chin ups , I joined the Marine Corps at 17 and during 3 months basic training I was skinny at the beginning but at the end I had more V back and chest and shoulder strength and muscle. And of course was fed a lot of Grits on breakfast. The Marine Corps transformed both my physical and mental mindset to this day at 64 years young! This life style keeps me going strong. While I see the videos and read the comments I keep educating myself. So carry on and don’t get nor discourage or obsess!

Rome was not built in a day so is our body. We started as a baby and then grow into adulthood. That didn't take a day either, so rushing everything is just going to make you into an obsessed psycho. Consistency and effort will give result always. Even if you do little by little like a simple walk around your neighborhood but you do it consistent or cutting less and less of the size of the meals you eat everyday. The whole point of loosing weight, feeling good about yourself, is to maintain that healthy lifestyle all the way to your golden old age. Growing old and not having take care of your body throughout your life is such a painful way of living the remainders of your years... where everything aches even just sitting down... This guy is keeping it real with facts and telling all of us to just focus on ourselves, maintain consistency, and the goal is to have a healthy lifestyle for life.

its different for every body. fixating on numbers isnt a good way to go. judge by what feels good and healthy to you. just cut and bulk depending on what you need at the time.

time and rest. you cant rush an injury. let it heal, do light flexibility and dont strain.

So would you recommend not to do any bodyweight exercises whilst it is healing then, or are there any exercises that won't harm it? thanks@@wanheekim

How do you actually measure body fat?

  • @Snoop_Dugg

Make a spreadsheet. 3-6 months. Note down each exercise and weight for that day. Start extremely light weight with more reps. Add 1-2kg per week. e.g if your goal after 3 months is to bench 80kg, start your program with 10kg. Stay consistent: get a white board and write out your program for that day. Cross out each exercise as you do it. You are here to *do work* so you stay until the work is finished. Don't be sloppy - make every rep perfect.

You will get rapid strength gains first, and beginner muscle in 12 months. Then it will take 2-4 years for the physique changes to occur. Then you will probably plateau.

To be honest in my opinion what u should do is a proper building phase where u put on as much muscle as u can get than what u can do is go to bmr and set a weight goal and it at the maintaince level of that weight and do cardio and in 6 months ur body will change

You can be really simplistic...by cutting what you eat in half...for example if your breakfast consist of 2 eggs; 2 hams; 2 breads. Cut it in half 1 egg; 1 ham; 1 bread etc...this is only for a caloric deficit. Whatever weight you want to achieve you can go back to a maintenance diet once your goal is achieved. Take your time...doing those 90 days super challenge works but you will kill yourself and most people will binge eat afterwards. And yes...the 10000 steps work...many Europeans and SE Asians are skinny fit...they pretty much walk everywhere...all the time...and they eat tons o veggies...veggie wraps...veggie soup...veggie portions is larger than the protein and carb portions.

Highly encourage getting a powerlifting coach, especially if they are qualified physiotherapist. They will make you strong, safely with good form. The physique will come after 3-4 years. Getting jacked will take 7-10 years.

I enjoy your content the most when it is simple and straight forward like this video and many of the earlier videos. The videos that are more verging on alpha-male hypermasculine territory are less appealing - just some constructive feedback. I understand it's probably to attract a wider audience but I would like to think that you could be successful with your core content without diluting it with that kind of stuff.
