I'm an apprentice and on Tuesday I will have my first tile job. I bought my tile cutter for 60 bucks and now as I tried some old tiles I had unused from my home, all of them just crumbled into four parts. Now I watched your video and tried again while watching, and I was able to feel the cutter wheel and feel the right force needed to scribe it just enough for a clean snap. I was able to make 1 cm wide and 20 cm long tile strips. I think I'm ready. Thank you very much for our advice. And PS A poor man's tile cutter can be an angle grinder with ceramic/concrete smooth diamond wheel. I used it before and It works quiet good if you use it carefully and with a steady hand. But nothing beats the tile scribe cutter.

If only it worked. 😢 I’ve tried 75 tiles And 3 brands of cutters. You simply can’t cut tile without a wet saw at 6300ft with 2% humidity The tiles just crumble.
