    Best thing to use rather than a regular marker is a DRY-Erase marker. It wipes off easily. I also use small shears and only use the very tip of the shears when cutting the base so you you don’t cut any of the hair off.

    Hi Rick - thanks so much for doing all of this excellent work to inform us newbies on just how it's done - your hair looks fantastic! As I'm about to take the plunge and get a system of my own going - how do you choose the correct color to order your system correctly from Superhairpieces? Do you send them a sample of your side hair, or...? Thanks for any tips on this. Would also love some guidance on how to control the density when ordering the system as well. I'm an almost-60 year old man that wore Hair Club for Men in the late 80's, and my goodness - how things have advanced in this technology! Looking forward to embracing these new hair systems!

    Hey Rick! I'm a fan of yours! I just got my first piece from SuperHairpieces, but I've worn others. An important question of mine that I hope you can answer is, I want to cut in a mature looking, slightly receding hair line in my piece, a kind of widow's peak, if you will Many of the pieces I've gotten have a straight across, slightly curved hairline, more like a younger man. I'm an older man, by the way, your shaking the thing and sininging, "I wanna hold your hand." LOL. I totally got that. I wonder how many others do? Anyway how do you cut in the base so as to look more angled on the mature head? Do you understand what I mean? Thanks, Flint

  • @Superhairpieces

    @Superhairpieces

    While we can't speak for Rick, our suggestion would be to create the template of your head with the contour of hairline you would like to have. You can use a white marking pencil or something similar to mark onto your head where you would like the hairline to be and what shape you want it, then create your template to match. Then when you are cutting the hair system, all you have to do is follow the template!

    I guess it's good to know how to do it. I just don't know why you would do it when the factory can do it for $15. Not only that, but if it's a thin skin, they can actually bevel the edge.

  • @Superhairpieces

    @Superhairpieces

    Жыл бұрын

    Hi there, this is an ultra thin skin system. Rick attaches the system to the styrofoam by pinning the parts of the poly that he will be cutting off. When cutting the actual hair, our stylists at the salon like to attach a thin skin system to the mannequin using a bit of tape to make sure it is secure, then just remove that tape with solvent when they are done.

    @rickdouglas5830 I'm not sure if you'll read this. I hope so. I'd say we are about the same age. You're a big inspiration to me. I like your wit along with your tutorials. I have a big beard because I have so little hair on my head. At 61, I was okay with the hairless head and big beard look. My son is 22 and lost his hair at 18. His mother wants him to have a transplant, however, he has very thin hair on the sides. I'm encouraging him to try a unit. I believe it would boost his confidence. His mother nays it and he will not do it. So I'm thinking if I try a unit and look 1/2 as good as you do he might take my lead. I'll try almost anything and most of the time it good. I have mastered coloring my beard and no one knows. (At least I don't think they know) 🤔. I'm good with cutting the front and a round the unit. However, cutting a style for the 1st time I wouldn't do. I'm sending my 18 year old daughter to beauty school so she can help men like us get our looks and confidence back. I told her she can make bank when the word gets out. Most men wouldn't trust themselves to cut a unit and install for the 1st time. So more men would probably try it out if they had help without the high cost of a Bosley. If I go this route I would like to make videos for men our age. Can you do a video concerating on the name of the system,color,% of thickness,how long does your system last, etc. You may have done a video on this topic and I might of missed it. Keep making videos I enjoy watching them. Much luck. 👊
