These “how to videos” are so helpful for people like myself. I have an anxiety disorder of being touched, especially by strangers. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.

This technique is definitely what one would consider as the “foundation” to many other styles that many hair stylists wish to achieve for their clients along with the high outcome expectations from their clients also. Absolutely love it.

I’ve been doing this technique forever. It’s simple and it works well 😀
Just tried! It works! It fixed the choppy layers I cut from another tutorial. Thank you!!!

Omgeeeee, what an easy way to cut a face cut!!! I've been doing hair since 1989 and THISSSS IS EVERYTHING!😊 SOooo easy, I love it, and I showed my sister , who's also a Cosmo!😁 Thx for the tutorial!❤️❤️❤️❤️
I think it's important to note to NOT move the peak of the part (top of the triangle) further back as you grab sections if you want to just frame your face only. I made the mistake of moving it back like it's shown here and the layers further back on my head were shorter than the ones next to my face. Keep the peak at one point as you add in more hair to cut!

Whoa, thank you, I would have done the same thing. Thanks! 🙏💫
Thank you so much for sharing your expertise! My daughter wanted this cut and I followed your tutorial. It turned out so well that my other daughter immediately wanted the same cut. Her hair turned out perfectly, too!
This was easily the best easiest hair cut video I’ve seen over the years. I used it to cut my 32 year old daughters hair and it was perfection - thank you!!
Matt, this is awesome! This looks like a much easier technique of holding the hair than the way I was taught. I can’t wait to try this on a guest!
I think this is a great and easy way to get those face framing pieces without even having to really think about it. Makes for a solid yet quick service. Thanks for all of your videos!
This is the best tutorial on face framing your hair, its simple and easy to follow, and the results are magnificent, I got better at tweaking the angels each time I tried it, of course you always need the expertise of a hair dresser but this is just too easy and for the 1st time in history my layers are exactly how I envisioned them, thanks for sharing 🥰
Love this! I'm SO picky on who does my hair because many do not know how to do this. It makes a huge difference.
I love this. I've tried 6 different stylist over 2-3 years and never can get them to do this cut. I'm taking your video to the salon. hair dressers never listen.
I have very long hair and wanted some long layers to frame my face. Sae this and tried it on myself this morning and it worked great! I love how it turned out! Thank you!!!! Im gonna look for other tutorials by you foe long hair!
This is for sure the easiest face framing video I’ve watched! I’m a licensed cosmetologist & I struggle with face framing!!! Thank you
I have seen quite a few techniques in my 65 years of hair dressing and yours is the best ever ..beautiful job ..i love it ..thanks for the lesson..
I've just found this video and tried it immediately on myself and I must say - this is exactly what I was looking for!! The last time I went to a hair saloon I asked for "delicate, face-framing layers" and I ended up with some kind of fringe maybe? Something that wasn't layers and added a lot of weight to my quite broad face. I have thin hair so the back looked flat and generally it was a disaster. I followed the instructions from a video but I did these layers just in the front and stopped the the comb reached the space around beginning of my ear and the effect is BOMB! I loooove it and thank you from saving me from the visit at hair saloon hahaha
That was awesome. What J wanted and did not get! Going to do my front myself. Did curtain bangs yesterday. Perfect! Finish the front with this. You are the best on you tube !!❤❤❤ Thank you!
Love it!! Great technique.I can't wait for the one with side parting! Thank you!!
We learned the face frame just as you said, holding the sections low. It never occurred to me to hold the hair higher, parallel to the face. I also thought cutting at that angle would take out too much. Not so! How different Cosmetology Training would be now if I was a student. Much better, I’d say! 👍🏼
Who's here in quarantaine doubting if this is a good time to try this

I learned that cut when I worked for Sam Villa in San Mateo CA. Before he moved to NYC . still face frame like this. Great tutorial and presentation.
I have cut my own hair since I was a teenager but I never seen that technique done before. I like that way better, seems much easier!! Thank you!! MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!🎁
Absolutely love this technic! Simple, beautiful!
Thank you for this tutorial ,it helps me understand face framing so much better. Love your videos
My teacher had taught me 3 months, but I got nothing, you teach me just a few mins, oh you wonderful man, I get it !!!!! Thank you so much.
I've always struggled with face framing and connecting the back layers to the front. this is very helpful and you're a great teacher! thank you and keep it up! :)
Did this before I went home for thanksgiving as I was short on time to be able to go to the salon. I’ve never had more compliments on my hair in my life and it felt great/crazy to say “thanks, I actually did it myself”. Thank you!
You’re amazing, I appreciate you showing us your technique. Ty!! :)
First video I've seen from you but very concise and clear. Plenty of angles. I'd rather watch this ten times than a longer drawn out video twice. Very good!!

Nice technique, beautiful result. I'm wondering how this would lay with a diagonal part, front side to center back? Would a side parted cut be more appropriate? Thank You! Btw, I Love New Hope! Been away too long, gotta visit Soon! 😍
Wow! This technique looks so neat and straight forward - definitely going to try it. Thanks for this video :)
Thank you for your videos and techniques, these days “trained” salon hair Dressers cut Terribly, not clear what sort of training is happening but in spirits of being more trendy they slaughter our hair and this happens across the board no matter how much money you spend in certian cities. This old skool way of cutting is ever green and appreciate now I can send it to my hair stylist so she can see it :) .. and learn a time tested technique
