A Hitler - Why risk it? Go to your local mobile phone shop (for your carrier) and ask them to transfer your number on to a new SIM. Takes all of 5 minute and they charge like £10 for the SIM. I'd rather pay that for the peace of mind.

I cut my normal SIM to a Micro a couple years ago and was looking at cutting it to a Nano for my new phone and came across your comment, I had a crazy uninformed thought that I'd have to change my mobile number (only been using 'smart' phones for 7 years) LOL :-) I just got back from the store I purchased my first SIM card from and they had to order it from the carrier for me... easypeasy , they mail it to me, I'll have it in 2 days and only 20 CHF :-)

Here are some consequences of cutting down a SIM card down to a NanoSIM card, which they were experiencing and were gone after the cut SIM was replaced with a new proper NanoSIM: Frequent coverage loss. Reduced coverage (signal strength). No 4G while they were in an area covered with 4G. After the SIM swap, 4G magically appeared:) Call drops. Slow internet due to instable connection. Battery drain due to frequent network searches.
