Cutting through the canvas...not really bad. It's a lesson really. Some may not agree with a tiny bit of tape on the back of the canvas to correct the cut but it can salvage the painting, (somewhat) 🤗 Kudos dear 🌷

Or do the negative of this: cut the canvas and then do the modern art thing. So then you have a formless background with a vacant stencil in the middle ( but obviously you need to make sure the stencil cut is supported, otherwise you’ll just have a hole. 😉)

Why would someone dislike this? It's harmless and a nice idea. People are needlessly negative.
