Manufacturers really need to up their game as the variances between racquets of the same model are terrible! I have 2 Wilsons (of the same model) but they play like totally different racquets. I took it to a MRT and it turned out that one had a swing weight of 332 and the other 320!

Typically Yonex blows other brands out of the water, only varying by a few points. Would love to see others catch up!

I had 2 Yonex DR98s and they varied dramatically. The myth that Yonex is more accurate is bullshit. All racquet companies have some variances. However, I purchased 4 Head Prestige Graphene Touch Tours. I ordered 2 from Tennis Warehouse and 2 from Ebay. They were all identical in weight, balance and SW. Did I get lucky? Probably, but cheers to Head for at least trying to be consistance. My guess is that since those racquets are really made to be modified (static weight with overgrip originally 325grams no mods), they likely didn't add much weight anywhere on the racquets. Also, Wilson, from what I'm told, is the worst of the big brands.

I have a yonex ezone dr 100. I like the weight but want more power. Its strung at the high end and im thinking that stringing at the low end would work. Your thoughts?

Decreasing the tension will help you create more depth. The ball shoots off the string bed at a higher launch angle, allowing the ball to fly further, however the ball will NOT fly faster. If this is what you are looking for, try dropping the tension dramatically (so you feel it for sure) by 5lbs. If you have access to frequent stringing, you could try dropping the tension by 2-3lbs every time you string to until you hit a "floor," where you can no longer control the ball. If you want to increase the velocity of the ball off the stringbed, you have to increase the swingweight. The most efficient way to do this is to add weight at 12 o'clock. Only a few grams can make a BIG difference!

You didn't even show how much or where you added the lead.

It was different on each racquet. Small amounts at 12 for swingweight and lots in the throat for static weight

More in depth customization video coming soon. I will try to break it down in a step by step manner. I've been doing it so long sometimes I rely too heavily on my intuition and skip steps!

Which bevel should you start a leather grip on please? I’m curious what most good players prefer, particularly if you have a single handed backhand.

@@rabbit7726 I usually start on the widest bevel, but I would be hard pressed to feel the difference of where the grip was started.
