I'm running two RF97As right now, both with leather grips and an overgrip. It's funny that the bezels on the tuxedo's handle feel way rounder than the earlier red and black version of the autograph. Those bevels are razor sharp even under a leather grip and an overgrip

I'm also using overgrip over the leather. You mean the first generation RF97? I used to own one but don't remember that. Interesting, that they rounded the bevels.

@@MihaFlisekIT It might be down to the grips, they're different brands so maybe one of them is a bit thicker and gives the handle another feel. I'll check when I have to replace them

Nice one Miha. I never thought you could do an extra turn at the base to thicken the butt (sounds dirtier than it is) but recently I bought a used Yonex Rqis 1 Tour and the previous owner had medical tape wrapped around the butt under the grip which I immediately removed. I don't know if I would have liked it with the racket sitting sitting high up my palm

I did the same on all my Yonex rackets. They habe really thin butts haha. Maybe you should try thickening it up sometimes, it gives you more leverage and you can hold the racket more loosely.

Great video, is there a good way to add tackiness to the leather groups - without getting sticky or messy? I realise some leather grips come with this tack built it, so it must be something we can put on the leather ourself.

Thank you. If you are absolutely set to Play with leather without overgrip, you can try using some corn starch or wax used for skie waxing. But start with smal quantities to see how much you need.

Which one do you like better: Oehms or Tennis Warehouse leather grip? Can you compare these two?

Oehms offers more Direct feel, and is more compact. The texture gives it a premium feel. TW's problem ja Quality controll, they Just never feel the same for ne, which is a problem for racket matching. Thixkness varies and th way they are cut at the start. The feel is also great and they are cheap. I prefer Oehms.

Hi. I am planning to add a head leather grip to my PS97L. It is 6 points HL unstrung and i would like to make it 9 points HL unstrung. Is the leather grip enough? Or would i need lead tape? And how much lead tape would I add? Thanks!

Of the top of my head it would say it's enough, but you would need to calculate, for the exact racket and leather grip. Depends on the mass of the racket and the how much heavier the leather you are using is, compared to synthetic grip.

@@MihaFlisekIT I added the head leather grip together with 2 grams of lead tape. It feels a lot better. From 305g with the synthetic grip to 325g with leather grip, overgrip and 2g lead tape. But the grip size increased from 4 1/2 to 4 3/8.

What is the brand and variant of this double sided tape you used?

It's a regular Tesa double sided tape.

Looks like you overlap about 1/8 of the grip ? Didn’t hear you mentioning that. Otherwise looks like it sits nice and flush for a comfortable grip.

That is correct. But I will do more overlap with softer leather grips.

Is that a Fairway standard or Double Handed size? Also, how does it compare to Yonex?

It's the double handed size. I find fairways grips to have the most direct feel, and also being one of the thinnest. Yonex is a bit wider and thicker.

are they thicker or thinner than synthetic grips?

Leather and synthetic come in various thicknesses. There is no general rule. But even if they are the same thickness, leather will feel thicker, because it compresses less.
