How to Customize Superman War World Pinless
Ойын-сауық
#photography #mcfarlane #actionfigures
With Mcfarlane acquisition of the full DC license he can now go into deeper stories and characters. This Superman is one such character. Either you like it or hate because we are so used to seeing him in the blue and red outfit.
Begin by heating up the figure with a hair dryer and pulling him apart.
You'll it to be very soft plastic. How ever the trunks are now glued to the articulation.
The shackles are moled to the boots and wrists. You'll need to dremel those off, unless you want them there.
The emblem you heat up and remove with a flathead screwdriver.
The small chains come off easily.
The reason why you are here is to see it go PINLESS.
Unfortunately the term is misleading. Pins are needed and are not removed, in any figure. The term refers to pins being out of site.
Drill a pilot divit into the head of the pin. Now use a grinder on a Dremel at high speed to invert the mushroom top. You will see the plastic melt in doing so, be careful.
One concave, fill with your desired putty, I ended up using uv resin, as it cures quickly and sands easily.
Paint to your desired specs. Color matching is tricky, best to paint the entire piece when possible.

Just when I thought I couldnt learn much more from you being that I love your videos and actually have learned a ton you go and drop a pinless video ! you are a MADMAN and one of the best on youtube . I'm really digging the rub and buff as well . i use Citadel paints Leadbelcher base for anything and everything steel and iron and either mix my own combination or just add a top coat and layers but Rub and buff is like the konami cheat code and so much easier to get that iron and weathered look super fast . I gotta agree w/ Wilfredo Diaz as well as A real chain adds so much for something small and simple but looks so much better . thanks for another great video . Can you please do something w/ the Azrael knightfall armored Batman or maybe the knightfall Bane as well and break the Batman's Back ? Put your led tubing into him and give him led reactive green veins ? do your thing ! That was your 1st how to that I applied to my own figures and taking my customs to another level .

All the modifications you did to this figure was amazing but my favorite element has to be the real metal chain that you added on him. There is just nothing better ( in my opinion ) than using real actual elements that the sculpted plastic was try to emulate. Again great freaking job on this project and I have to commend you on having the guts to just do what you need to do to those figures to get the look you're in visioning, especially since some of these figures are sometimes hard to get or find...at least they are difficult to find for me 😁

Thanks Wilfredo This quite a challenge… originally only wanted to repaint but it just snowballed into a multi project…. I learned a lot with this one…a few pit falls but I corrected them. It’s harder and harder to find these figures, so just buy online when it’s not fold out… Thanks again for watching
This looks great. The articulation isn’t effected by hiding the pins?
@InkDropCustoms

The piba still do their job.. retains full articulation

Can you bend the limbs ? Doesn't hiding the pin in the way you did it now permanently prevent the limbs from bending essentially severely limiting the posability of the figurine ?
@InkDropCustoms
Жыл бұрын
That is correct…. Each decision has a consequence…. Gluing the pin can certainly limit some articulation and certainly prohibit you from further customization… The video was to show a request of how to hide it… This video doesn’t show glueing the pins only hiding them, in this case the figure retains full articulation.. Still the best way is to dye the plastic to blend it in….. but it only works on light colors that can color changed
How did you prevent the resin from binding to all the plastic around it and freezing the joint in place?
@InkDropCustoms
11 ай бұрын
The resin only covers the pin…the opposite connector is still free to move on the pin as it is internal..build ayers….till you build a small mound… then sand down Don’t allow the resin to go inside the joint
I hope you do something with the new Galactus

@@InkDropCustoms I should be getting him in the next few days. I’m extremely interested in trying to figure how to take him apart. I want to add more LEDs and replace the board so those flickering light gimmick can go away lol

Interesting, it certainly doable, yet those figures are so well fused together it’s a real chore to crack it open
can you articulate his double jointed legs with the pinless mod?
@InkDropCustoms
Жыл бұрын
Yes, the pins are still there … It’s available for sale if interested.
Does the rub n' buff have to be clear coated?
@InkDropCustoms
Жыл бұрын
Yes, it will rub off, the oils from your hands will break it down…. But it looks so much better than silver paint

Being it’s covered by the S shield it would hide all that work….. yet they should have used a more muscular torso…. Thanks for watching
