I am an Introvert/HSP/Empath, and I feel like I feel too much, so I do most of thing you mentioned to numb my overloaded nervous system. In the end, I feel all of the inconsequential feelings and shut out all of the important ones. I am truly just existing not living. Thank you! This is exactly what I needed at this moment.

thank you so much for sharing this! i'm only 21 but have been struggling with a lot of uncertainty lately. which i guess is normal, there's still a lot for me to experience to get to know myself in different situations but i've been trying my best to work on my mental health while taking steps towards whatever direction it is that i'm going. i've never felt completely emotionally safe in my childhood, only when i was alone. now i just ended a 5 year relationship with a person that taught many things, but is nearly in his 30's, which often made me feel inferior and insecure about myself. having spent from 17-18 to 21 nearly 22 in a relationship with someone who somehow ended up being my safe space and now not being with them anymore feels like starting completely new? i'm finally getting to know myself, outside of a relationship with someone else again- and emotional safety is something i want to focus on for myself to also create healthier relationships with others in the future. sorry for the vent and if you read all this thank you so much for taking the time to do so. thank you again for making a video about this topic, i hope you have a great day!

Masculine culture is a good point. Makes me so anxious. For me unsafety comes from an inability to trust others. Everyone is at threat to me. As much as I value being in community. Any ideas in on transforming this?

I have a history of CFS and currently housebound. I have had some somatic coaching and saw temporary benefits from emotional release. I like the point you made about clearing these energy blocks in the n.s, as cfs is predominantly a n.s in freeze. Will you be discussing any practical ways of dealing with these energy blockers? Thankyou kindly. Leah

i'd replace the term toxic with emotionally irresponsible maybe? personally both my parents can't help me with things like this so i've started to see them as people on their own journey rather than people that'll help me with mine. i'm sorry to tell you that there sadly isn't a quick fix to things like this, mental health and being on the journey of self healing is something for life- become curious about your thoughts and behaviors without judging them, identify patterns that lead you to self sabotage maybe? i wish i could give you a fast solution but sadly i don't think there is one. keep showing up for yourself, be curious about what you think before and while self sabotaging and what could have led you to think that- there'll always be fall backs, but with every fall there comes an opportunity to learn a new way of getting back up.

techniques to help understand your patterns better would be journaling about them, meditating, therapy.. and once you're more conscious of what makes you self sabotage, you can start making little changes that'll keep you from doing so? i hope you're doing alright
