There are two ways to crop video in Adobe Premiere Pro. One is for a picture-in-picture effect using a crop filter. Other is using a sequence setting and changing it for vertical or square.

To crop a video in Adobe Premiere Pro, begin by adding the video clip to your timeline and search for an effect in the effect panel called a crop.
The cropping effect allows you to crop from left, right, top, and bottom.
You can also set features to soften the edges.
If you crop a video layer, you'll see the video layer under that video layer. It's a great way to create a picture in a picture or split-screen effect.
The other way to use crop is cropping a video for a different size.
To do this, simply create a new sequence with the new size and drop in your video footage. This will auto-crop your footage to that size.
You can move the clip to exactly where you want in the frame.
This is great when cropping your video for Instagram or TikTok in 1080x1080 pixels or 1080x1920 pixels.
