I like to use these as a middle & then continue to make a small blanket by using the granny stitch. Very pretty.

Can you recommend a comparable yarn as I love the colors of the yarn you used.

@@chedunndoit if you need a more budget friendly yarn I highly recommend Swish Bulky from WeCrochet or Knitpicks--although they don't have the bright colours. If you want super bright and fun colours I recommend going on Etsy and browsing yarn dyers. Try search words like "bright pink hand dyed yarn". There or soooo many talented Indie dyers out there (you can even filter the results on Etsy to be local to you)! This and Instagram are where I find all my fun coloured yarns. --You may even get lucky and find a good speckled one!

I love not having to do the puffs! So cute it looks like flower petals. Do you ever use the magic circle instead of the chained circle? Also do you think that 16 instead of 12 would make it more full/less space (I don’t enjoy making puff stitches)

I loved this tutorial. Prefer this granny square to the one which I've been using to make a bag, which uses puff stitches in the second round, so I think I'm going to change. I've also been struggling to weave in ends neatly as have been weaving across the back of stitches on wrong side and it changes the look of the granny square by pulling stitches out of shape. This is much better. Thank you for a well explained tutorial.

I'm so glad you found it useful! Weaving in ends on our squares is the worst. If I ever can find a way not to--I will. I do love the sunburst (puff stitch squares)--but they use an incredible amount of yarn. This one is a wee bit better for scrap busting or getting the most mileage out of yarn. Happy crocheting :)

I love this so much!! Thank you for making crocheting accessible and fun and easy to follow! Is there a way to add an extra circle to this square make it bigger? (Like you did with the large sunburst granny squares)

Oooooh--good question!! You absolutely can...I would experiment with adding a 4th dc and maybe an extra chain in each space around if you wanted to make it larger! Remember--the larger you go..the more you'll have to fiddle with the squared round as well. You may have to add in some hdc just like in the sunburst square to make the edges perfectly straight.
