How To Crochet Simple Mesh (Two Ways)

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Hi! I remade this video to show how to make a crochet simple mesh stitch two ways. The first way requires blocking for it to lay flat, but it makes a pretty open stitch pattern. The second way is a really nice mesh as well and will lay flat naturally. I hope that you enjoy it! Feel free to subscribe if you enjoy it! Thanks so much!

    Thanks for the tutorial. I have a recommendation, though. Have the background (table) and yarn be more different in color to see the stitches better.

    Hi!!! Lovely! I’m working it now! If I’m doing the two stitch, I started exactly like you did at the beginning, how do I do the nice border when I’m done? You basically have an arch so the stitches are in a straight line so I wondered if just doing SC is all that is needed??

    My mesh is puckering up as expected but i was curious how its supposed to look before blocking? I am fairly new to crocheting and im not completly consistent with my tension as i would like. So sometimes when i work on other patterns they come out to ruffled or to puckered then they should be. Im working on this one but im not sure if i need to start over or if this is acceptable amount of pucker for this pattern before i block it.

    I'm still new to crocheting, what do you mean by blocking it in?

  • @mamainastitch

    @mamainastitch

    7 жыл бұрын

    Hi Andrea! Blocking is a way to make your crochet piece fit the measurements or shape that you're looking for. It also gives the work a polished look and can improve the look of the stitches. You would simply make the piece damp, lay it out flat and secure it (some people use pins). I just lay a few towels on the ground, make my piece damp, lay it flat and secure the edges. This way it dries with a nice flat shape. There's a lot of information about blocking if you do a quick google search! Have a great day!

    Sometimes, finished crochet projects like curves at the edges. To smoothes it out, you can stem it, etc. There are pins and mats to lay your crochet blanket; it makes it easy to stem. There're other ways to block also.
