How to Crochet Finn's Blanket Granny Square (A Variation of a Starburst Granny Square)
Hi Everyone!
This tutorial will show you how to complete the squares used in the Finn Granny Square Blanket Pattern. It's a square I came up with while playing around with stitches. It combines clusters in the center with your standard starburst type rounds afterwards. It works up really quickly and is super cute for stash busting projects.
As always I will be showing you how to deal with all those ends as you go along and how I join my rounds to make them look invisible.
The yarn used for this tutorial was Michaels Store Brand Loops and Threads Impeccable in the colours: Orange Crush, Skylight, Sea Green and Citron.
If you'd like a written pattern you can check out Finn's Blanket Pattern found in my Etsy shop here: www.etsy.com/ca/listing/10476...
Happy crocheting!

Your methods are FANTASTIC 😊😊😊
I laugh every time you say, “Flip your granny.”😂
This is so pretty and much easier than the traditional sunburst with all those puff stitches! Thanks for sharing

That's true, and puff stitches can look tatty after a bit of use
I haven't crocheted in years and am just getting back into it. I just subscribed to your channel. I really like some of little things you do slightly differently, like putting your slip stiches at the end of the row into a space, and not into a chain stitch. It looks so much better to me. Your work is very professional. I'll be trying this square today. I also like that you don't play a lot of loud or annoying music with your video. You have a nice clear and pleasant voice. Very enjoyable video.
Love this pretty granny square! And it’s not difficult to work up! Thanks for sharing your excellent tutorial! 🤗
beautiful love your channel....a good learn
Hi, a big thank you from France for your time doing this excellent tutorial : it is very easy to follow, clear, and your voice is very nice too. The result is very pleasing. I am mixing 2 of your granny squares (this one Finn’s + the Starbust one) to make a holiday throw. Will be following you from now on. Take care.

Thank you so much!! ☺️
Love it ! Thanks! BTW, in your instructions on the third round where you completed it and had to weave in the tails, I was delighted to watch you do it exactly as I do! One day I said to myself, why not thread the second tail on the needle to weave at the same time as the first tail? Economy of time! Oxoxo
Love this & thank you for a clear & easy tutorial! ♥️

Really like this - I have yarn for a regular granny baby blanket but I think I will try this - just wondering what your favorite join for this method is? Do you by chance join as you go? Or sew together ? Also do you block your squares before joining ?

Hi Rita!! My favourite method is continuous join as you go…there should be another video on my channel to show you how!! And no, I never block my squares before joining-but do block some blankets after they’re finished. Happy crocheting!!! 💕

Oh I love soft blues and greens and teals for a baby boy blanket-remember to throw in some neutrals and maybe an orange or gold to compliment all the blues and greens. It’ll really make them pop! All the best ❤️
