I've been working on this for 2.5 hours and I'm halfway through the video 😅 I learned how to crochet 2 weeks ago and it took me an hour to get the middle circle correct because I didn't know what 2 double crochets were but NOW I DO! and I'm doing pretty good, aside from it taking me forever because I keep having to redo things. If I can follow this, anyone can ha. Thank you for being beginner friendly!

Keep at it and you'll be a pro before you know it. I found that watch KZread videos and learning all the stitches allowed me to read patterns. When I tried to crochet when I was younger, before the Internet, I tried to work from written patterns and ended up giving up because I just couldn't figure it out. My best friend and I went to spend the weekend at her grandma's one time and her grandma started to show me how to crochet which got me interested in the hobby. I've tried to pick it up again here and there over the years but didn't stick with it for very long. Since I started watching KZread tutorials about 5/6 years ago, I've been making all sorts of stuff and I absolutely love it. I've always been a fan of the whole creating gifts for people because it's ads such a personal and is much more meaningful. Often times it's more affordable too.

Such a great tutorial with clear explanation and no unnecessary talking. Thank you so much!

Thank you so much for this superb tutorial. You didn´t promise too much because it was definitely beginner friendly. I am a crochet beginner but was able to follow through your instructions right away. Every square is getting better in shape and size. Will do an oversized cardigan. I guess 4 squares in a row will be enough (4 across and heights). 1 square does have around 15 cm. 😊

somehow I ended up with 9 petals and didn't realize it till the end😂 when the count of stitches in the corners weren't working, I just added 2 more sc in each side and everything was good. great tutorial!

In the beginning (where you first started the purple) it made no sense to me at all and I was pretty sure I wouldn't be making this, but I kept watching anyway. Then when I got to the part where you turned those chains into part of the square I was like.....BRILLIANT!! I am SO glad I kept watching. :D

I've been trying this pattern out and i really like it. The video was great and easy to follow. Thank you so so much for posting it! ❤ I've finished it actually and have a question. The last row is "bowing" in and out a little. It looks like its wavy on purpose 😂 any idea why that could have happend? ❤

i’m struggling with actually making this into a square. it comes out kinda curvy and weird and the number of stitches doesn’t add up for me. i followed the video all the way through, not sure what i’m doing wrong! this pattern is so cute i need to get it right!

I love this pattern but I find that my sides are kinda wavy? The square doesn’t have super straight sides. It curves a little near the middle where the petal ends are. Do you have any idea why?

Wavy sides on your square can be caused by a few factors. I recommend that after completing your square, blocking it can help even out the sides. Wet blocking or steam blocking can be effective in shaping and smoothing the stitches.

Do you have a recommendation for making the ends of the petals now stick out?? Putting some of the round 11hdc into a few of the petal ends?

With this pattern, the leaves stand out beautifully from the background. I personally don't think there is any reason to change the pattern, so I don't have any recommendations for that. But feel free to experiment yourself. Good luck with your project🙂
