Instructions from a passerbyer: To know how long each row needs to be use a measuring tape and measure from the crown of the head to below the ear and then add another 2.5 or 3 inches for the brim. As for how many rows, as many as it takes to fit around the head. You can use whatever yarn you want with its recommended size hook or even one smaller if you want a tighter stitch. Make your chain as long as the first measurement. Once you're ready to start your first row decide if you're doing single crochet or half double crochet. The single crochet will create a tighter stitched hat but the half double crochet will be faster. Stitch all the way down your chain until the last 5 stitches. These you will slip stitch. The repeat: Ch 1, turn your work. Slip stitch in the first 5 stitches, working in the back loops. Continuing to work in the back loops single or half double crochet (which ever you choose) until the final stitch. In the final stitch go through both loops. Ch 1, turn your work. SC or HDC under both loops. After that stitch in the back loops only until your last 5 stiches, which you will slip stitch in, still in the back loops. Once you have desired length (to fit around the head), finishing at the opposite end of the slip stitches then slip stitch or single crochet the sides of your hat together to form a tube aka your hat. You should finish at the top slip stitch end. Leave a tail long enough to weave through the top stitches and then pull to cinch it closed and close it up well. Your hat is complete! Turn to right side out and add a pompom if you wish! Merry Christmas!

"beanie tutorial" that taught me about as much as toddlers teach me. You need to add captions, stitch types, measurements etc.

This was a waste of my time, what was your point of posting this with no info. How many chains, rows etc.

Your not explaining how you mad the top of the hat tighter or how long ya beginning chain is wat size child or adult you making it for or how many rows you did

Where are the actual instructions? - what is the gauge? What stitch? Is it worked front loop or back loop? How are you turning? What created the cinched area at the crown? Please give more info.

chill out , the stitch is a half double crochet slip stitch and the clinched area is just two (depending on what size you want) slip stitches. it's back loops only and you turn regularly.

simple easy instructions cuz i just made this: chain however long you want it to be, then do half double crochets in the back loop only; then 5 slip stitches also in the back loop only. chain and flip, 5 slst then hdc back down, rinse and repeat until happy with the width (that will fit around your head) sew up the sides, then pull a needle thru each stitch at the top and pull+tie

This isn't really much of a tutorial if you don't give any instructions. Love this pattern and I'd like to make it, but I'm not sure how the top is cinched like that?

Ok for people who are confused bc they didn’t even give instructions: make a chain total of 70(or just until it fits around your head). Wrap your hook under, Then go into the 3rd chain below the chain your hook is in. Then put your hook under once your hook is in the 3rd chain, and then put your hook under and over and pull through the 3rd chain. And then you should have half of a year drop shape, then put your hook under and over the strand of yarn and put it in the 1st chain of the double crochet you just did. Do the last step until you get to the end of your chain and do it repeatedly until it fits your whole head. Then once it fits around your head, fold your project, and then sew or slip stitch the sides that are open and you should have your beanie. If this is confusing for anyone it’s better to look up a tutorial on how to make a beanie or bucket hat.

Desolee, j ai utilise la maille demi bride pour faire un Snood, donc c est pareil pour le bonnet,, determinez LA HAUTEUR DU BONNET SOUHAITÉE puis faire une chainette y correspondant et continuez le nombre de rangs determinant la LARGEUR.

Ok so basically I’m 14 so I’m gonna try to explain this, you measure how much you need plus some extra for when you cinch up the hat, then you do double crochets till you have 6 stitches left on the round, then you do one half double, and 5 single crochets, chain 1, turn ur work and go into the first stitch, do 5 single crochets, 1 half double and the rest double crochet, keep repeating that and then sow up ur hat, and weave the top going in and out, then cinch, (sorry this is the best way I can describe it)

Anyway explanation cuz I kinda understood the st only but u chain like 40 then chain till last 5 then single chrochet those repeat for 38rows then when ur done slip stitch together then where u had the single chrochets weave through with yarn and a needle at the very top of the singles then pull tie sew in ends and ur done sorry if this didn't make sense

Find a full video on Top Down beanies. Increase until it is as big as your stretched out fingers. Then do Half Doubles in Back Loop Only until it goes over your ears. Decide if you want it longer to fold up doubled over ears or slouchy style then add Pom Pom

54half double crochets slip stitch trough,and 3 slip stitch trough,turn over,3 slip stitch trough and 54 half double crochet slip trough.do a total of 60 rows or the amount needed untill it fits the head circumference.
