I barely made it to the back loop part and then I gave up. She's rushing through the whole process. Ok for people who already know what they're doing. I ripped out what I had already crocheted and looked for another tutorial. 😢

    I've tried to follow this and even slowed the video down however the half double crocets you don't show exactly where they go and how it should look. How many stitches should there be? Etc

    Mine got wider as I went along. For the life of me I can’t figure out why! She says to repeat rows 1 & 2, but in row one she says to turn work then sc in the SECOND stitch. But in rows 3 and 4, she does a sc in the FIRST stitch after turning the work. Very confusing and frustrating. 🤦🏻‍♀️

  • @LastMinuteLaura

    @LastMinuteLaura

    4 ай бұрын

    I wanted to make one flat! If you want to change colours, just do the back loops only stitches in one colour, then when you move to the regular sittches, drop the yarn you used for the brim, and pull in the other yarn colour,. Don't cut the yarn, just drop it, then you can pick it back up when you make it back to the brim. Good luck!

    Yes! It may be a SMIDGE big on a newborn, so give it a try, and if it is, throw it in the was, to tighten it up, or use a smaller hook!

    Why are switching from half double stitch to single stitch in a row, why are single stitching opposed to doing a slip stitch when closing the top of the hat?

  • @LastMinuteLaura

    @LastMinuteLaura

    4 ай бұрын

    Switching from HDC to single, creates a tighter ribbed stitch brim. the crochet top instead of slip stitching was just a personal choice :)

  • @LastMinuteLaura

    when you single crochet into the second chain from the hook, you lose a stitch. So a chain of 30 = 29 single crochets! You are doing it right! :D

    the Half double crochet stitches go through both loops at the top of the stitch. When I say Back loops only it means just the back loop at the top of the stitch. I hope this helps!
