Oh my, the telepathic results is what intrigues me, about 80% of the composition was in synch… the results are truly spectacular! Hats off to you both!
These images really worked well. My favorites were the ghostly nude on the stairs and the portrait painting over the sunflowers. I'm looking forward to more.
As I said on Dave’s channel, this is absolutely stunning! The juxtaposition of Parisian art with US Midwestern scenes is perfection. Well done! 👏👏👏
There's a project here where film photographers all over the country swap films randomly and shoot, and then send the film to the photographers who coordinate the project here, and then they develop the films, scan and post the results on the official account. Can't wait to participate on the next round!

Thank you very much! Are you working on a double exposure on film video ? :)
This is sooo good! It all just ended up working so well together 👏🏻 Can’t wait to see what comes out of ours!
Swaps can be a gamble, but you guys nailed some great results!
Just amazing. Love your content.
This is insane, how it fits perfectly !!!
Amazing pictures, such a great idea, and really well executed.
Really fun and unique! Hope you do a lot more film swaps in the future!
Fantastic! Kudos to you both!
Punaise...or may say Holy shirt...you both guys created some incredible photos. Strong french and american "culture" influences on both of you. Vraiment incroyable,félicitations Mathieu!🤗
Love this idea!
Amazing ideas with stunning results. Oh and I love la Musée d'Orsay.
Made my day! Thanks a lot!
Le concept est génial !
What an awesome idea!
SO GOOD!
Wow very surreal images! I had experimented with double exposures before but this in on a different level.
Double exposure I have done but this film swap concept is new to me.. it looks fun and with some amazing results.. thanks to you..
The sunflowers and Madonna is my favorite!!!
Quite the match-up - so many winners.
Some of these are so good that it almost looks like it was planned.
You are absolutely great.
thats INSANE! i love so much this technique, i hope i will be able to do it some day
Funny mixing fine art with power lines and junk lol surprising how nice it turned out!
first time hearing about this film swap - will love to try with a friend in the near future
Those were great!
Wow, that's such an cool idea! 👍
This is great! :)
The nude descending the staircase one was fantastic
2:58 really like this one, you got so lucky with the positioning!
Such a cool idea
Amazing!
Very cool!
OMG LOVE LOVE LOVE ❤️🔥
this is so good
c'est hyper cool bravo
Do you have to do anything special to make sure the frames are aligned? How do you make sure they're aligned? Looks like fun though
@belackjeffrey
2 жыл бұрын
The alignment of the frames is left to chance with this technique, as you can't see the other photographers exposures. The synchronization between these two is probably from their both having applied the rule of thirds to most of their compositions.
@ralfjansen9118

@@belackjeffrey probably not the alignment of the subjects but the very basic alignment of the frames without offset

i think @theoldcameraguy made a marking which you can see at 1:07 looks like you need to mark where your frame is before you are closing it
This is awesome! I really like the image at 2:02. I'll gladly do a film swap with you sometime if you ever want to do one again!
Wow. I love your channel. Stay save
Inspired to try to make a photoshop batch script that does a double exposure from 2 folders. Just shoot 30 shots, ask someone else to send you 30 shots. Don't look at them and let the batch "develop" the double exposures in a live stream. Could be pretty fun and dev. more accessible than sending rolls of film around the world :)
Cool!
Great idea

oh my god. just WOW
Крутой выпуск 👍🏼
Looks very interesting. I think I will try this myself, if I find someone who will film swap with me.
I'd totally buy a print of the naked lady on the stairs!
This is such a cool idea😍 a lot of Pictures worked out soo well!!! Question about doubble exposure: do I have to change anything about the light measuring?

Oh sorry i just realised he said he underexposed a stop… but did you both?
Mr. Stern - I am new to your channel and love all that I see! I wonder if you have ever talked more about the first image you show here in this video, of the woman's looking to the right and the buildings in her double exposure portrait. I would love to learn how you made this, though I understand double exposure images. Do you talk about this image anywhere else on your page, or elsewhere, perhaps? Thanks in advance!
@MathieuStern

hello shane, thanks for subscribing ! to get this effect you need to shoot first the portrait on a white background or white sky, then find a building with a lot of contrasted light like pillars and shoot it on top of the first pic

@@MathieuStern Thanks for this! I appreciate it. I was hoping you had a turorial like it somewhere on your page, but I'll try experimenting and see what I can find. This one is so striking I was hoping to see more behind-the-scenes of you making it, I think.
I found a few used and expired rolls in old cameras around the house. I wound them all back and kept them since. Maybe I get them developed - maybe I just shoot them again for the surprise?
How do you know when to stop rewinding after the first roll was shot so you don’t suck in the film tab for the next shooter to pull out for loading?
Should the second person shoot at box speed?
I always wanted to do this with my dad but i didn't because he (reasonably) can't use my spotmatic with a faulty lightmeter (i use sunny 16 and so on) and my other cameras are only advanced electronic film cameras from the 90s' that can can only retrieve the film completely inside the cassette. Maybe i should think about another way to do this
Do you shoot the film at box speed even if you expose it 2 times ?
@theoldcameraguy

We each underexposed by one stop - I just set my ISO to 400.
How do you know if frames are going to be lined up?
@MathieuStern
2 жыл бұрын
You can use the same camera or just hope it will work
If it doesn't have to be color I can film swap you a roll of ilford pf50 or tmax 400. All of my color films are either expired and extremely unpredictable or bulk loaded Kodak vision 3 500T which needs to be hand processed unless you can find a lab to do it. I know silbersalz35 lab does remjet processing, but idk if they take outside rolls or if you need to purchase from them for them to develop it.
The one at 2:35 is just art
