    Thanks for the inspiration. I learned so much that I was able to grab a fly on the fly and crushed it in millisecond. No kidding ! Creating pressure is one of the interesting parts of bjj. I have noticed that ability to create pressure correlates well with the belt you wear.

    Travis Stevens thank you so much for being that generous, there are a few of them. For example the plan to "disrupt" the base for a standing opponent, from a bottom position in opened guard, the "different options" the "roadmap" what to do what to expect and why so. I feel like when somebody opens my guard I just have to do my best to prevent him from passing and recover my guard, whereas there might be a plan to, "disrupt" his base and attack and therefore making him unconmfortable while he attacks, which is I guess a form of defense, I really appreciate your guidance.

    *GOLDEN TIP* Many people don't realize pressure is generated from two directions. You can press as hard as possible on an deflated balloon or you can inflate it ALOT and press softly on it to generate the same amount of pressure. In practice, you need to feed your opponent lots of food. Preferably proteine and outdated brocollis so he gets real gassy. Now THAT is pressure.

    NOGI is a little different you have to be more careful with the type of counter attacks people have from bottom side control. But in concept it's the same just watch out for different types of techniques.

    pmartialartsx the big difference is the slight rotation in your hips and not having the ability to keep your weight over your opponent.

    Hey Travis I just now came across you video. Could you pleas help me out. We are working on the same concept you have in this video. But my question is about the bottom position. The side control that you show is very hard to get out of. Do you have any counters to it. Shrimping does not help as the top guy can just rotate to the other side.

  • @sylver76

    @sylver76

    5 жыл бұрын

    Escaping a fully set pin is an issue and there is no perfect solution because well, the guy on top has gravity on his side, and for every escape technique, there is a counter, so if his focus is to hold the pin, it's tough. One thing you can do is combine shrimp and bridge. You shrimp and as he moves to the other side, you bridge in the weak direction. If your timing is right, you can reverse the position. A better answer, however, is to prevent him from ever getting settled in a pin and start escaping early.
