OMG!! There's 0 chance that I've noticed these were miniature sets without the bts. MIND-BLOWING. I think Sebastian just created a new level of filmmaking and a new way beginners can approach the big film look. Now, no need to scout for locations, no need to prepare a rocket to shoot on the moon(LOL) and less VFX/CGI. I personally love the Canyon set which looks amazing and realistic. Love it when you guys make videos like this.

Imagine this with a 3D printer now too. Where you can get any model you want, print it out in a few hours and then paint and weather and you can get any design you want.

I don't agree. Many of them lacked the motion to make them feel realistic. The winter set looked especially fake. The wall didn't look like a wall. The trees were to uniform and again, didn't move. Real trees move- always.

@@janfranklin5269 Well it was basically a wargaming terrain quality so no wonder. IMHO the scale was of the miniatures was far to small for such close up shots. Something more like 1/24 or even bigger would give much better effect.
The moon one was the most realistic. I'm sure that guy is going places.

The lighting is completely wrong, there is one source of light, the sun, and looking at the crescent of the Earth it is coming from a NNW direction, not west, which is where his light is coming from.

The only reason you think that is because you don’t actually know what the surface of the moon looks like in real time.

@@ricky302v8 Try imagining it like this: a spaceship light reflecting on the land, at then your idea will be cancelled in a certain way or another. 🤷🏻♂️
Ok, dude, that moon "scene" was amazing. The way it played with the light. And the wall... who doesn't like a wall...

Me. That wall shot was the only one that looked fake.
Gosh that canyon is BEAUTIFUL. Life goals right here.
All the miniature sets were incredible, however the neon effects for the Avatar world were on another level.
The « Blade Runner » set is awesome !! That’s my favorite, but all are great !
For me the the moon landscape was the most realistic, although they were exceptionally good.
It was so much fun and creating this project with you guys!🎬👏

All of the sets were mind blowing, but the dedication and complexity of the Avatar Set, stood out most to me!

Seriously? I thought it looked like the bottom of a fish tank.
Miniatures and practical effects are why i believe in movie magic!
The pairing of the sets with the canyon stock footage was on point.
I liked the moon scene the most that was absolutely amazing the way he was able to get so much detail in a miniature set. The dramatic lighting helped a lot too!
Definitely the blade runner! Very realistic! This video opened with the blade runner miniature shot and for a brief moment i thought it was the actual shot from the movie until after And what a coincidence! I just finished watching blade runner 2049 before clicking on this video. This is so amazing I remember watching that shot in the movie and being completely awestruck and this guy just made it look so easy hats off to the guy! This just goes to show that even the most complex of shots can be achieved with so little

Avater set look awesome. Because of The lights and overlays.
I liked the ice wall. Why, because I love GOT!!! The moon was dope too! I liked how you can see all the different shadows as the light passes by.
All the creation were awesome ;) I liked the terrain and houses most.
Awesome lightning and shaping of the canyon! Love it!
It's always nice to see people that uses diffrent techniques instead of digital assets. All the scenes are amazing. The lighting, the movement of the camera and the assets tell a story that make you feel as you are there. Excellent !

Thank you Robson! Which set was your favourite?
I liked the Blade Runner and the Canyon the most. They looked very natural, with no clue that they were miniatures.
Oh, wow, this brings back memories, to the 'good old days' before CGI entered photography. I was an expert creating realistic miniature-sets, really loved to create the strangest scenes. If I nowadays show people my work from those days, nobody believes it was done without CGI. My favourite one is the 'blade runner'. The other shots are great too, but they are more like a proof of skill. For the 'blade runner' you need that little bit extra, not only to be very skilled, you need a touch of magic too :)

@@artlist_io Sorry for my late response. Here are some of my old "Without Photoshop" pictures. It is on a very old website of mine. In those days one could build websites with Apples Aperture. www.petersmith.nl/Fotograaf_te_Amsterdam_Photography/Portfolio/Paginas/illustratie.html#0 (The last picture might be a little offensive. Please bear in mind; what you see is made entirely out of Play-Doh, except my own face. This is mounted in it afterwards. And yes, for this I used Photoshop. Love to try these things once more, now with video. Do you guys think there's a market for that?
the canyon set is my favourite looks so real and I like how the shot zooms in and out of the cowboy.
This is my childhood dream job 😍, i luv all sets you made.
For me it’s a toss up between the moon and the wall. Both amazing, but the wall reminded me of all the joy my miniature train set and world I created brought to me and my family as a kid. I think this might become my new obsession. Thanks for posting!!!

The canyon scene looks so real. I'm amazed that all of this is is done with miniatures.
i would love to learn world building to put my cartoon animations in real life truly inspirational
I loved the man in the Bladerunner one as the hands and head reminded me of the hand of God - amazing
I loved the opening shot with the head statues in the desert as it is so surreal and mysterious and otherworldly. I love the sense of loneliness with it. But all of the sets are amazing.

So proud of you Sebastian ❤️
I just started to build scale model of houses from my favorite movies when we had covid-19 lock down. I find it very relaxing and helps to give a mental release. building miniature houses of horror films & comedy . The moon set look so real it Amazing !
I liked all of them because each has a different style, complexity, and strategy. With each the artist showed his variety of skills and amazing creativity. Each one of them out me in a different mood. Even though it was short, it left a huge impact - it made me want to go back to my filming which I stopped during this crysis. This was s long but 100% honest opinnion.

the moon one with the background added is just pure magic
Definitely the blade runner landscape with the depth and diversity the filter created compared to the other sets and dioramas

I realy like the blade one, it has such an artistic touch and looks so good. It really seems like it is a real place you can visit. The faces look like they are a entrance to another place out of this world!
Mine was the avatar I thought that was very impressive Especially the all the colors and the camera movement it’s breathtaking!
Amazing skills. No more words.
Charm of miniature sets can never be matched by CGI , however high tech it gets even in years to come
The ice wall is very moving. Though, all of them are impressive. This shows some of the possibilities available in advanced film making.
8 months people. That's how fast you can get THIS good if you really focus. Remember that.
I loved the canyon set the most. It was well executed with minimal set pieces and using perspective to his advantage. That world felt larger than life.

Blade runner might be our favorite too 🤯 Sebastian sure did an incredible job
It is a challenge to just pick one scene; they were all inspiring and masterfully rendered. I would say, from an educational (DIY) perspective, that the Canyon scene stood out. It was good to get a sense of not only table-top prop production but also what could be done in post with green-screen to really manage the dramatic setting and take it over the top. No one would believe that it was a DIY project in a controlled environment. Beautiful. Thank you, Sebastian. Thank you, Artlist for promoting this talent and making it so accessible.

Thanks Ivan! Did you feel the Blade Runner scene was the most iconic?
Wow, these DIY miniature sets are mindblowing. What he says about having top quality shots even with your phone is true, I would like to suggest even a potential one-up to that: now with the 3d scanning capabilities of the LiDAR scanners (or the more pro scanning software that use thousands of pictures to reconstruct) he could actually extract full 3d models and use it for the more wackier 3d camera movements or more complex lighting effects. For these dolly steady camera shots though, I find it perfect like it is.

You are the next generation of vfx and CGI production
All Art is merely an illusion, I once read somewhere and as a Commercial Artist of forty years, I tend to agree. I'm learning to make dioramas, of mostly Australian History, as a hobby nowadays and am like a cat at a fishshop's window when it comes to appreciating a vid about set making. Creating an illusion. I'm always inspired by them and I understand all the work the camera doesn't show. Like making fifty conifers that look like a forest and all the little details in scale, to trick our eyes. Bladerunner's set, in my opinion was the classic example of "less is more", using space to create the illusion, fooling our eyes to believe what we see. Thanks heaps.
I really liked the setting of Blade Runner with the effect that the lut had
