neatly explained, I tired using a model with side profile - unfortunately the 3d bump map did not work as expected. maybe try another explainer video for that.

Well, none fucking taken because there was no offense in the first place. This person told you to not skip steps, which you did, as some commands that you showed without explaining might need some guidance from new Photoshop users. This tutorial explains well ONLY for people who have some previous knowledge of the software. Which, guess what, not everybody is.

You had already done several things to the layers before you began your instructions. ???
