How to create a small bog garden for wildlife | WWT
A bog garden is a fantastic and low-maintenance alternative to a pond. And if you’ve got a pesky part of your garden that always seems to collect water, this is a fantastic way to use that space - creating something more attractive that provides wildlife habitat.

Hi 👋, I'm watching this video in 2023 now. And I'm going to start a bog garden on my property. I hope 🤞 it will turn out to be exactly like this one on this video. Thank you 😊 for sharing.

Hey how did it go ?
I’d never put carex pendula in deliberately. That really is the thug. Good ideas for my bog garden though, thank you.
A great help thanks.
Interesting
Looking at incorporating a Bog Garden at one edge of my pond when it is being done. Hope to be more active on here and upload videos etc throughout 2020 and onwards.

Make sure the Bog Garden doesn't source water from the pond, otherwise it'll drain the water off real fast, but a slight tilt in favour of the bog will benefit it when rain over-tops the pond naturally. A pond corner that gets more shade is a good place to locate it too. Good luck.
Nice video. I've done a number of wildlife ponds, bogs and gardens and if you ever reconsider an updated video to this, may I suggest Marsh Marigold (great early colour) and - surprisingly - water mint, which tolerates fairly dry conditions on occasions.

Thank you 😊 for mentioning this. I'm going to look more into these plants and buy these plants. I want to start a bog garden and a pond for frogs 🐸🐸 and toads. Thank you 😊.
