Jimmy, you are by far the most relatable coach in KZread. I have just gotten back to playing golf after almost 19 years of not picking up a club. I have watched countless tutorials and none of them are as understandable and effective as yours. You make golf more relaxing, fool proof even, especially to us professionals who would want nothing else in the game of golf but to get our minds off of work and enjoy the game for what it is. Looking forward to more of your videos. You have earned an avid fan in the Philippines!

@@TropicanaEntertainment just joking about Moe. But your resemblance to Fred Couples is accurate. Your golf philosophy has helped my game. I have slowed down, relaxed, not upset with bad shots anymore, take my bogeys and move on. The game has become more enjoyable . Thanks for your great videos. Keep them coming. The mix of instruction with humor is spot on. Keep it in the short grass.

Great vid Jimmy ! You're uncovering one of the most important secrets to great golf .. no tension repeatable. I believe the minute you try to kill the ball - all is lost. People just need to look at Freddy Couples or Ernie Els .. both long hitters but both not trying to overpower the ball. They look like they're doing practice swings !! But they can repeat their swings all day long.

What draws me to your "system" is, that it is what Ive been practicing for a few years now introduced by Brian Sparks at the "Easiest Swing". Especially your emphasis on the finish. A slower swing with no mental thoughts and tension and a nice finish. I do NOT hit the ball the longest. BUT, I hit it straighter and never get into trouble like the "long" hitters in my group. One time I was hitting my second shot into the green, a nine iron, and I overheard one of our playing partners whisper to another , "watch how easy he swings". That comment reaffirmed the easy swing system with me and I realized that others noticed! As you said, be the one with the nice fluid easy swing. I love how you , in a different way, but all the same, go by that thinking. Thats why I think your teaching is so refreshing and spot on. Its also nice that you make it so enjoyable to watch and learn. Great job Jimmy and great channel. Thanks for doing what you do. I truly believe that you are changing a lot of weekend golfers games for the better.

Jimmy; Have watched your show since you were about 7500 subs...loved almost every minute of it! I have commented about how Moe Norman would have agreed with much of what you teach. Today, however, I watched an old video on youtube by Sam Snead called "Sam Snead: Secrets for Seniors". PLEASE look it up and watch it. It reminds me of a older, slightly chubby Jimmy professing what makes a good swing. Watch his swing, listen as he talks about tempo, balance, less than full swing...damn near your whole program. I have never seen your ideas told by an icon of the game before. (although I have agreed with it from the beginning!) If you could get permission to use some of the video you could build 7-10 shows just showing that what you teach is not just tongue-waggle. Even if you just talk about it, it would be something special. Keep it up! Bill from Kentucky.

Jimmy, I really appreciate your videos. Just the reminder that it’s all just not that important. It’s a game and the sun will come up tomorrow if I bogey this hole is a great reminder for me. Here’s where I’d like to hear your advice: You hit your clubs WAY longer than many and you’re talking about barely swinging. If you’re hitting your PW 145 you’re 2-3 clubs longer than me. I’ve tried your simple swing several times and I still only hit my PW about 110-115. How are you hitting your clubs so far with such a slow swing? Someone else made this same comment but you didn’t answer. I’d really like to hear your response to this because hitting my 7-iron from 150 is not as easy as hitting a PW.

Jimmy's method is awesome on this channel and makes the game as simple as can be, but some of us need to understand the swing physics and geometry a little better before we can get to Jimmy's point, which is the ideal--the end goal. Go to "Overhand Golf" here on the Tube. A good place to start is "The Holy Grail of the Golf Swing". I guarantee you will finally understand what is actually happening in a good, effortless power golf swing...but remember the end goal--to play well--is like Jimmy says, "To eliminate all these swing thoughts"

Jimmy, love your clothing style. Classic 60s Vegas vibe. People should try to look respectable, dapper if you can pull it off, and you set a good example. This video? Another good one, on target. Behind the tree. you stated, "take your medicine". Bingo. First goal, get it back on the short grass in play. Second goal, forget the impossible hero shot but try to advance the ball. I struggle with that mentally. I am letting go more and clearing my mind more. Thanks.

I tried this technique yesterday in what was my second round of the season and was amazed with the results, especially with the irons where I always struggled. Seriously I was hitting it straighter and farther with less effort, easily 1 club farther. Thanks!

Really hard to keep tension out of the hands and arms, especially when trying to hit the ball hard! One thing that I have found that really helps is simply to inhale on the backswing, and to EXHALE on the downswing. It helps my rhythm and I find it difficult to keep tension in my hands, arms, and upper body while exhaling. It takes some practice and discipline to do it on every shot, but it has really improved my ball-striking. Might help your viewers too!

Just was at the range. I was hitting it good and then bad and then worse. I am like your swing is all over the place! I take a pause and say just do what Jimmy said and swing back say Hi and swing through! Finished the last 15 or so balls hitting pretty golf shots......smh! It just works!

I love your content, Jimmy. I have a question related to weight transfer during the swing. Why does turning through the swing work and sliding create poor shots? Both movements shift body weight forward.

If it is flat I have a repeatable golf swing. My problem is my course, I am 6 strokes better on those darn flat courses with no trouble left or right and really nearly flat greens. Play from 6500 yards and presently I am a 15 which will go down 3 or 4 strokes by September. I also am 77 so I no longer am flexible and athletic enough to hit my driver 280 yards so I have to deal with 225 yards instead but my course has uneven lies everywhere and the greens stemp at 10+ all year long. I look at what you show on your videos and laugh. 70’s every time on that cream puff. With that said I will try your method, right now I have seen a stroke improvement but I don’t expect much more.

Will squeeze the grip, then relax the grip. Will swing when feel the tension leaves. It’s my cue.

I like the videos! However, your yardages are likely way longer than most- your 145 PW is my 7 iron! Still great advice, but it's hard to play so conservative when you don't have the length!

My game has tightened up since applying your technique...my only question, and i hope you answer it. What's the ball placement for long irons... from 7 down I'm good but the longer irons i must say i struggle with. Can you show in one of your videos where you have them pre shot. Thanks Jimmy

Hi jimmy I like your attitude it’s what I try and strive for but I suffer from Parkinson’s disease so my body doesn’t always behave as I want it to .. still I try … I shot mostly in the high 90s to low 100s I use to play off 5 but that was 25 years ago … even still my swing is good but it has become erratic. As I said at the beginning I like your attitude .
