How To Create a Digital Countdown Clock in Cinema 4D + Freebie
In this tutorial I'll show you 2 ways to make a simple digital clock countdown. I'll show you how to do it with Xpresso and a variation with User Data.
I'm giving away the scene file for free, which you can find here: www.thepixellab.net/tutorial-...
Also, the more complicated project file I mentioned can be found here: vimeo.com/161978071
The font I used can be found for free here: www.dafont.com/digital-7.font

Amazing tutorial! Huge thank you for sharing your expertise and teaching me and others!
So nice of you to give us this scene, with materials and all, there are nice people on the internet s2
And when you set keyframes at 3:31 don't forget to change the Animation Curve from Spline to Linear. Thank you Jared!

BRILLIANT TUT!! thanks

Thankyou!
One thing is don't forget to change the keyframes to linear. They are eased by default, so the speed is not constant.

Are u on Instagram?
cool tut. a question. what if you wanted to be from 0000 to 1000 ???
how do you insert commas? such as counting from 0 to 5,000? And can you work with commas and decimals together... think counting money from $0 to $5,000.25? I get adding the dollar sign and then the counter... but can the counter do commas and decimals?
Hey thanks for your tutorial but the issue I have is that I want a 10 minute trimmer but I don't have cinema 4D anway my pc would be able to render the video file .... Can some one help me with the timmer. Can you render a 10 minute timmer at 720p and be able to upload it ?? Pls . Thank you the one with yellow light reflection pls
how do you make a 1 decimal counter?
Is there any way to do this with a text instead of time? I want to reveal a text and this could be a way to animate random letters? cheers, Luq
I'm waiting for Jack Bauer to jump out and scream "Where are the RedShift Packs!" ...and I just tell him, The Pixel Lab:)

Hahahaha
Is there a way to do it with a string of words instead of numbers?
is it possible to do $ dollar values with this slider
Something I can't seem to find is... out to change the User Data min and max value, AFTER you set it up. I have a scene with a lot of these animated numbers, and now I have to change them and have them showing higher values, and what I had to do is create the user data again (increasing the max) and copy and re-create the scene from scratch.. EDIT: OK, I found it, going back to the Null object, User Data and select "Manage User Data..."
Thanks for the tutorial - brilliant. If you wanted the upper limit to be greater than 100 (say for instance 6500) how would you achieve this? Not sure if you are picking up comments on this now but would be gret to hear back from you. Cheers and thanks again.

Just answered my own question and to help anyone else like me - if you want the numbers to go beyond 100 (or have a different range) make sure your controller is selected, click on the user data tab and select manage Data. Click on Data in the hierarchy. This will display a mininmum and maximum limit which you can set to your requirements. Easy!
how to add percentege
what's the font you used ?
