How to create a custom window in ArchiCAD
Directions, step by step:
1. Create frame with the «slab» tool to desired thickness and shape.
2. Remove from this polygon the glazed area.
3. Cover the subtracted area with a second «slab» (Material = glass) to the desired thickness.
4. Cover the entire window shape with a third slab that follows the form of the outer edge of the frame. Open the properties of this slab, and change the «ID» to «wallhole» under the "Tags and categories" rollout.
5. Select all 3 modelled slabs, and save the selection as a window.
6. Insert your window into your wall.

Hello! It is interesting to see that a fair number of people still find and watch this video five years later. Anyone working in a newer version of ArchiCad than 20 no longer needs this tip, since now the programmers have added many of the most common custom windows to the window tool. I suppose that one could still use this method if one wants to model a very unconventional window.

Подскажите пожалуйста, выходят новые версии! Но нигде нет этой инфы, даже в Ваших уроках! как в радиусной стене сделать 3-4-5 ... рамные окна (с учетом изгиба стены конечно, а не прямые вставки), Которые посередине толщины стены идут, а не снаружи как эркерные! (параметр: отступ от поверхности стены - заблокирован!!)

I appreciate the tutorial, but your work practices are so time consuming. I imagine by now you've picked up these tips, but for future viewers, there's no reason to draw guidelines, just draw your slab using the polygon tool. Then copy and paste the slab and use the border offset from your pet palette to create the second and third slabs. Shift-click to subtract.
