It's a mini hype. Thank you for your time though. I thought you could go for a month of countdown but no, indeed you can't. I don't know what canva really useful for but really it does beautiful small things. I hope someone knows what I meant because I can't make 42,000 pages to form a month countdown :)

Thank you for the tutorial. Perhaps Canva can consider to add a third party app to create actual timer that’d be really useful for the landing page/website 😃

Such a waste of time, don't worry the typo love. The actual *count down timer* is not a real timer because it's not live! I hate these types of videos because they give unrealistic expectations to the rest of the marketing team.

Canva tops out at 10 minutes worth of slides (even if you have a Pro account). And, yes, you would have to create that many slides. 😵‍💫

Actually just did the math... 7 days x 24 hours = 168 hours 168 hours x 60 minutes = 10,080 minutes 10,080 minutes x 60 seconds = 604,800 seconds... which is 604,800 slides. And considering it took her about 5 seconds per slide once the initial one was setup... it would take you 35 unbroken days to make a 7 day countdown.

Here's the work around. Download a countdown video off of youtube or whatever you find one. I downloaded a 10 minute timer video and I uploaded the video in my canva uploads and dragged it onto the screen. Then I was able to break it up, edit/filter the color and add layers onto it.

So ironic. I found premade 30sec timer in Canva. I downloaded it as a gif. Then I could place it in one of my tiktok videos to show how long a lady held a note while singing. So cool. CANVA IS AMAZING!

Nice video!!! How do you keep the timer going without pressing play when you post to IG/FB? The only way I see the timer moving is when I download from Canva MP4 and you have to press play...I need it to continue counting when it is post. I look forward to hearing from you!!!

Hi Jenifer, I understand that IG has an autoplay feature so the countdown will start automatically.

This is an interesting design but how would you actually use it? Since it's not a real countdown timer, it would never be accurate.

This is a good question Cindy! If you are worried on the countdown to be accurate, you could use the animation on other applications like social media posts or videos.

timer only works for a few seconds it doesn't covers all the the time have create a lot of slides to cover them all

Yes, it is. You can also use the " *Copy Style* " button to change the style of several elements at once.

Am I missing something? What I am taking away from this video is that you need to manually create a gazillion pages to create a countdown from 7 days.....this seems a bit insane. Please correct me if I missed a step.

You are not wrong… unfortunately. Canva doesn’t really have an easy feature for counting down. We simply wanted to show you a workaround.

woo a timer for a week would be how many slides? Hopefully there’s a future app for that.

At 4:20 you just magically show up with the animate ribbon, but I have no clue how you generated that ribbon. Can't do anything past that, since I can't bring up that screen you're using ...

Hi , Thanks for the nice tutorial. But Canva just allow to add maximum of 200 slides and not more than that. In that case, we can create a timer maximum of 3 minutes and not more than that. This is the case in free version...

Hey there, I've noticed that you can now add a "Trailer" on KZread to upcoming Premeres and Lives. So technically I think it's possible. However, KZread already has a built in timer screen for Premieres (not sure about Lives). So it would be kind of redundant to make your trailer a countdown. I'd focus on "pitching" or "teasing" what you content is all about in your trailer. Hope this helps 💜

Sure! Just make sure to adjust each page timing to 1 sec

So, you have to make a slide for each second counting down? That's 86,400 slides per day. With everything Canva can do, isn't there just a timer I can put a date in and it do the rest? Seems like just using a generator online and importing it would save hours. Does Canva not allow you to?

That's hilarious. One page per second. So for your "free version" example of 7 days, 2 hours, 1 minute, and 3 seconds, that would require creating over 604,000 pages!

😂 Your comment made me laugh... but you are right. There's actually a better way I found out recently... using the Flourish app. I'll create a new tutorial on this in the near future.

This is not really useful for counting down for multiple days, much less minutes. smh 😠
