How to create a Background using Caran D'Ache NeoColor 2 in your Adult Colouring

Welcome fellow Colourist's to a series on simple backgrounds for adult colouring pages.
I will show you step by step how to create a background for any of your adult colouring pages. I also hope this encourages you to #useyourstash of art materials you already own.
In this video I will complete one simple background using Caran D'Ache Neo Color II in the book A Million Sea Creatures by Lulu Mayo.
Materials used:
Caran D'Ache Neo Color II Aquarelle crayons
Daniel Smith Water Color Ground
Standard Water colour brushes
Please remember I am not a professional artist I am a Colourist. These videos are the way I complete my personal adult colouring pages.

I was lazy wanted it done quick and mess free so used it direct on Rita Berman, unfortunately did not end well. The crayon did not dissolve easily enough though I did only light strokes and also some bleed thru to the other side of the page. I found that using them directly on the paper can only work at times it depends a lot on skill, luck and paper to get it right. Next time I make sure to have a gesso base layer done first. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you for sharing your experience. You are correct not all paper is good for applying water based mediums, and if I have a lot of background preparing your page is a must. Hope you have much success on future pages. 📚🖍️❣️
