    I don't know what it is but i could watch your content ages. The craftmanship is incredible and the delivery is so relaxing. Reminds me a little bit of watching Bob Ross.

    Outstanding workmanship, the result looks nice. I often wondered how this was done, especially the line to cut the material into size to fit the round cross-section of the wheel. Thanks for sharing.

    Wonderful to see Your experienced hands doing such delicate tasks. The customer sees and touches your work every time the cars is moved. I think it is a special relationship between your hands and his/hers. Is the tool to keep the steering wheel in place available to buy? Thank you for your work and time to show us how to do it properly ❤

    Thanks for appreciating the time and effort we put into making these videos possible and the craft itself. Back in the old days there were no options for steering wheel holders so I did mine in stainless steel for my shop with the help of a lathe operator. Full pieces were worked in two different machines were used, lathe and milling machine. The cost was about $600 USD Nowadays we have online options and we found these on upholstery forums: retroretrims.co.uk/trimshop/en/35 www.ebay.co.uk/itm/166014952755 A drill press vise could also be useful, cost accessible and easy to find even on local hardware stores. The one I showed in the steering wheel course was $10 USD approx. ✅ kzread.info/dash/bejne/gpd1z8OopZasYso.htmlsi=o-s6aAh63gBG2yWO&t=5331 www.amazon.com/ZGRM-Precision-Bench-Clamp-4-Inch/dp/B09T5WBT84/ref=sr_1_3?crid=H9ZGZX5CUWWB&keywords=drill+press+vise&qid=1697817431&sprefix=drill+press+vise%2Caps%2C321&sr=8-3

    The needle enters the hole on one side and pops through the other side. I know how it is going to go and I have nothing more to learn from it, yet I continue to watch. Why? Because watching an artisan perform their craft is SO SATISFYING!!

    The 'solvent based yellow glue' is a traditional adhesive or contact cement used in car upholstery and furniture. It is the same glue used to stick formica as shown in the video about Upholstery Glues ✅ kzread.info/dash/bejne/oWasx8ezlKmeg9Y.html

    Is there a specific quality of leather you recommend for steering wheels ?

  • @Cechaflo

    @Cechaflo

    It is a matter of personal taste. Regularly, automotive leathers are used for steering-wheels. As these leathers (corrected/top finished leathers) have two to three coats of transparent sealer/lacquer on their top surface to endure the daily rubbing of hands and UV sun rays. A wet coat is useful to clean it. Can non-finished leathers (full grain aniline or semi aniline leathers) be used for steering wheels? Yes, provided you should be constantly conditioning and very meticulous to do a special cleaning. In other words, these leathers are considered more finesse and better quality than finished leathers. The only problem is we should be very careful with some grease or sweat on our hands; dirt, dust, sunrays, air conditioning, etc. We should be very careful about somebody who wants to touch your wheel, etc. kzread.info/dash/bejne/qYSrmbWiqLTIZ9I.html
