15 to 20 whistles are way too much for anything to be cooked in pressure cooker, you just need to soak rajma beans overnight and 3 to 4 whistles are good enough❤

@@praveenkumarshilvant9974 Maybe it is depending on 'what type of pressure cooker we use' OR 'not being soaked enough in water'

@@varshajain4934I also watched another chef who is a professional cooker and she also said yes, sometimes they may take longer to cook. I don’t know why, but that is what she said.

Rajma if very old takes 15-20 whistles, otherwise if new rajma will cook in 4-5 whistles. Kashmiri rajma always tastier than the long rajma

I'd like to say thank you cuz you're the only one on here that actually tells us how to do this stuff
For all those that are judging her, sometimes it does take more than 2-3 whistles to cook beans. I have watched another chef who Is a professional cook and she said it herself too. So don’t start judging someone just because you think you guys know it all. Btw, the type of beans you are using also matters as well as how old the beans are. There are factors that really impacts the time of the beans to be cooked.

Hahah thanks for the comment. I made this video a very long time ago when I started teaching myself how to cook, I was in school 😆 I’m more amused by the hilarious comments than anything. Yes, I do remember many whistles for the Rajma, so I guess I just wrote it as a ball park number. I’ve since then learned how pressure cookers work and know better. But yeah, it really depends on how old the Rajma is, it’s quality etc. but hey, I made such little effort on this video (compared to the more recent ones), and this is what goes viral - because of my apparent mistake 😆. Anyway, thank you for writing in!

@@Foodomania you are welcome. Sometimes people just think they know it all and they think they are perfect and start to judge others without knowing the facts

They are kidney beans lol. Red kidney beans. Search the black eyed peas which I just did and they don’t even look like that. And for your information Kidney Beans are also translated as “LOBIA.” Thanks

15-20 whistles?! 😳🙄😖🙏 Madam, search a video on the science behind how a pressure cooker works and you'll know you don't need as many whistles, not for any single thing. In fact, leave the flame on low and let the Rajma cook for upto 25-30 minutes and without a single whistle you will have your it ready. By releasing the pressure every few minutes, you're in fact prolonging the cooking and wasting a lot of your precious time and resources. Try and figure out some basic techniques before teaching the world on how to cook.

Sure, it is a really old video when I was starting out. And the beans I had used were old and didn’t cook for over 30 minutes. I like my beans really soft and ended up cooking it for longer and more whistles. At the same time, hey if you know how to cook really well, can you post some recipe videos so I could learn? Thanks!

@@Foodomania I suggested you to figure out the science behind how the pressure cooker works. The beans cooked using the technique I suggested turn out soft, not al dente. Recipes? Start with my technique first and I am sure you will learn a thing or two to begin with. You seem pretty offended by my comment pointing out a vital flaw with your cooking technique. There's no shame in admitting "I stand corrected".

@@ladeeeedah please, do tell, are you offended by my comment? :) all I asked was - can you make some educational videos? And like I said, it’s one of my earliest videos when I was just starting out. And making videos kept me interested in learning how to cook. I’m not going to delete it because this is a “blog” and I like looking at how far I’ve come in my cooking journey. Why did you think I was offended? The comment section is filled with critique on my (incorrect) technique, and I have no qualms in learning how to cook. Since you’re telling me to learn before I can make videos on my page - I’m just asking you a simple question- can I learn from your videos?

@@ladeeeedah anyway, I apologize if I’ve offended you. I’m a just home chef learning and documenting my experiments, that’s about it. If you’re looking for science-based cooking videos, this page is definitely not for you. Have a good day!

@@Foodomania Lady, please get off your high horse, read my comment again and you will know what I mean. Again, I will have to break the news to you that not everybody on KZread has a channel nor is it a criteria for people to write comments. It is an open platform for all and sundry to participate. I, for one, am entitled to an opinion on a video on an OPEN (not private) platform especially when it is fundamentally flawed and I clicked on it hoping it will help me. My bad, of course, that I clicked on your video. I assure you, I corrected myself and never repeated the mistake again. Since you have been repeating yourself and asking for my help (without even bothering to make sense of my comment), I repeat PLEASE CHECK VIDEOS ON HOW COOKERS WORK like I have already suggested in my original post. P. S. You can deny all you want but had you not been so offended we wouldn't be really discussing this. Also, now that you have suggested I must indeed consider your suggestion of posting videos, it seems at least I have got the technique right and my videos might help people who come to KZread for solutions in a jiffy. Hopefully I won't disappoint them on the technique part at least. Feel free to revert to the comment, I have posted all I wanted to. I can't repeat myself over just because you failed to read it right in the first place. I have better things to do in life than engaging in a futile argument with a rank stranger I came across on the internet. Your video already wasted enough of my precious time. Thank you in helping me choose where not to head when in need of help!
