Even with the same amount of meat, I'd rather have two diner style thin pounded patties with cheese melted in between than a huge thick patty - thick patties don't have the same texture and melty cheese.

I always make the mistake of watching the burger show when I'm hungry.

@Hugo Hugenotten Oh please its not that bad mate. Sure it may seem sad, but burger recipes can always be used. So while at first it is inconsequential and not note worthy, who knows? Maybe tomorrow or a decade from now, someone somewhere will use such a recipe and have their day be brightened even slightly, with a good meal.

I'm so glad you worked out a show for this guy - his passion and energy is so contagious. He's an American treasure.

However, the hamburg steak is not a hamburger, which was invented when immigrants in New York (I believe) started sticking hamburg steaks between bread. The modern hamburger is an American invention.

This dude rules. When he flipped off that tank it made me like him even more. Insulting inanimate objects is one of my favorite past-times.

Hey Google, Add to my bucket list, Eat Burgers with George Motz.

I'm not even US citizen, but George Motz is national treasure.

We need more content! He’s like an uncle that’s cool as shit.

I had success making the Bob's Big Boy Burger a few years ago. A couple of tips: if using Kraft for the cheese, use Kraft deli deluxe American cheese (not their regular American cheese which did not taste right). Also, I used Del Monte hamburger relish (the one that says, "made with real sugar" on the front. It tasted identical to what I remembered for the big boy burger). Also, make sure the burgers are thin enough to create the proper ratios between all the layers.

I've been binging this series for a couple of days now and I gotta say I'm kinda falling in love with George by now. His love for his craft is contagious.

Yeah, tragically there aren't a lot of Bob's almost anywhere anymore, and that's pretty sad that the bigger chain restaurants like McD's and Burger King have been putting the grandfather of burgers out of business. Probably didn't/doesn't help with the whole Coronavirus halting business for a lot of other restaurants in the early days of the pandemic.

Dad grew up in the woods of Northern Canada Learn how to hunt at a very young age ..prep clean and butch meat ..One of my first burgers i had was Beef And Moose with a touch of pork And he loved to make sour dough bread I can still taste the smoked moose A few onions ..man i miss him And his out door cooking
